Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Power Flush Radiators

I have some radiators in the central heating system that seem to get hot at the top and are cooler near the bottom, in an arc shape.
Does this mean they need power flushing?
Is it a case of taking off just the affected radiators, taking them outside and flushing them through with a hose or should they all be done.

Can you not flush the whole system while they are still hooked up or is that not possible?

    Thanks

The best thing is a power flush which is done without removing rads and you flush the whole system. If you post your location there are a few of the lads here that do power flushing the whole process takes the guys of a day.

I'm near Athenry in Co. Galway.
The system consist of a Firebird 90/s with 15 radiators, some are very small and some are closed off.
It's a open system, eg. Expansion tank in the attic. It's just 10 years old.
It would be great to get the whole system flushed/cleaned out.
The boiler is inside the house, right next to the back door and has easy access.

Any idea how much something like this would cost.

The general run for a powerflush would be between €400-€550
I don't know anyone in that area

"Gifted" here on P&H, is in the Galway area, if he doesn't do it then I'm sure he can recommend somebody.
