I'll be 100% confident of 4th if spurs are beaten tonight and we beat united next week until then although we are in a title race I'm still a little uneasy about top 4.

Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal to fight for Man City star at knockdown price?

It looks like Micah Richards’ Man City career will draw to an end this summer, following reports that the defender has rejected a new contract to stay at the Etihad.

Richards' contract expires in 2015, meaning City may choose to cash in sooner rather than wait until he can leave for nothing, albeit at a knockdown price this year.

His departure will conclude a near 13-year association with the club whom he joined as a youngster, and while many will view him as a talent unfulfilled, at 25 years of age, Richards can still live up to his potential.

I just watched the highlights from the 2011 Manchester derby where City beat Utd by 6 goals to 1. :D

I remember Richards had a great game and I always liked his style. What do you think of Richards playing at Anfield? Would he be a good addition to the team?

I always liked Richards but isn't he an absolute crock?

Richards is quality. Injuries would concern me.

    Chelsea v Spurs

Chelsea win and its a blow to spurs champions league hopes.

Spurs win and its a blow to Chelseas title hopes.

Im still very worried about getting fourth never mind going for the league.....a draw it is so. :/

Richards could be a Sturridge type signing

Wouldn't go near Richards with a barge pole. Good player but always injured. No thanks.

Yeah, any result could be good for us but tbh, I don't want Spurs getting too close.

    Draw please.

Yup. His Injury Record, makes Agger look positively Robust.

The only one that is Worse, is our very own Martin Kelly.

Speaking of Martin Kelly, can you Imagine a Liverpool RB Tandem, that consists of Kelly and Richards?

Salah only made the bench for Chelsea because Torres injured himself in the warm up.

Enjoy your money and the splinters in your arse.

We will probably take him on loan next season.

    I hope not.

I never wanted or rated him in the first place.

Spurs down to 10 men. And Chelsea have a peno

    spurs always bottle it

I reckon we'd have to win 9 of our last 10 games to win the league, not going to happen. At least 4th is looking more secure by the day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,872 ✭✭✭Dickerty

And that is 4th place wrapped up, IMO. They just don't have the firepower we have, but are still ropy at the back...

Yeah Chelsea's fixtures are just too handy. They will grind out the 1-0's and 2-0's to win the title.

Was hoping for a draw but at least this is a blow to Spurs.

They hold such a high line with such slow centre backs.

SASAS will have a field day against them to at Anfield.

I think Spurs winning would have been the worst result for us. Was hoping for a draw but Chelsea ending Spurs top 4 hopes is fine by me

How many points behind are city. ..and how many games do they have in hand?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

that should be at least 4th sewn up.

Chelsea aren't losing this league IMO. too many options. far more than us, and even more than City in all honesty.

Dawson off injured now as well.

Why the Salah comments? What did people expect? They let Mata go because he wasn't as good as their first team options and wasn't getting game time. They brought in a kid with potential as backup to the backup - if Mata wasn't getting a lot of gametime, Salah certainly wasn't going to!

The fact he isn't playing for chelsea doesn't mean we've "dodged a bullet" or something.

Chelsea will still drop points, wait and see;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Spurs really are a lazy looking badly coached team. Utd must be a bigger threat to the top 4 than spurs are at this stage.

Fůck me imagine having just spent over £100mil by selling your best player and watching your team perform like that.

That's 4 thrashings handed out by sides above them now...so it's not a one off.

I like the optimism, but Chelsea's title to lose now.

    4th sewn up?

6 point ahead and 10 games left.

I'm not counting any chickens yet.

Can't see Spurs getting anything at Arsenal next weekend on that evidence.

Even at home. Might squeak a draw if Arsenal are wrecked after the Bayern game.

Chelsea and city will win all the games where we think there is a slim chance they will drop points. However they will drop points unexpectedly in games we'd consider them bankers for.

  • Site Banned Posts: 4,925 ✭✭✭Agueroooo

Spurs could do us an absolutely massive favour against Arsenal.

3rd spot at least lads.... 3rd spot!

Looks even worse when the team they were playing today were assembled on a shoestring budget.

Always great to see the underdogs pick up a win.

    and it should.

it'd be horrendous to drop the ball from here.

QFT! x 10 which is why todays result is okay by me. Football is a marathon, if winning the title is now beyond Liverpool (assuming it was within a tenuous grasp) then at least make sure for the top 4. So much comes from that.

all this talk of 4th being in the bag is nuts
so many games to go with so many of the big teams playing each other that any talk of who finishes in what position is crazy.

so far it's been great.....so far
