Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Every time Rodgers goes out of his way to heap over the top praise on Allen, his form turns to ****e!

Yes I think this is the main conclusion from today's game.

Let's ignore the magical performances of the rest of the players :P

Never the easy way, (bar against United) recently.

The great thing about these types of wins is, those shams who hate Liverpool more than love their own club are getting a glimmer of hope for an afternoon of slagging us taken away, given back, taken away, given back, taken away again.

That's what you took from that game?

Maybe give Stevie a rest until the window for getting a ban runs out.

If nothing else we'll need to have a penalty taker on the pitch for the crunch games against our 2 rivals.

Three points and goal diff better than Arsenal who have a shedload of doubt and injury.

Liverpool fc don't do doubt - they leave it to the supporters.

I think this is the strength of the way we attack - as a team.

Suarez was excellent by normal standards if not by his own and Sturridge was grand.

Coutinho, Henderson, Allen and Gerrard were a mixed bag but together they're lethal.

Tactically it just works so well. It even seems to work fairly well when none of them click.

But I don't think much individual praise is deserved today, except for Skrtel who was solid in defence (our left hand side was the big problem) and obviously the player having the best individual season in the league in living memory.

Allen did well to recover from a very bad start to the game, much like the team in general I guess.

    Good for him.

With any luck he'll take over after Moyes!

Wouldn't swap them for anyone in the league

We need 22 goals in the final 8 games to break the Premiership scoring record, going on our recent form we have a chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Also that should end any debate or worries about finishing Top 4.

That's in the bag now whilst we chase bigger things.

Would it be too much to ask for Suarez to score 35 this season breaking the PL record??

    Further to this morning's conversation:

Torres in his prime wouldn't get in this team ahead of Sturridge.
Sturridge is scoring more goals and his general play and teamwork is a lot better than Fernando's was.
I cannot believe how good he is.

Don't get me started on the other fella

Nah he'll do it, the bi-annual hat trick against norwich is still to come so that only leaves 4 to score in 7 other games.

Torres would not compliment the main man, for that reason Sturridge would edge him out.

When it comes to getting goals, IMO, Sturridge has a little catching up to do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,289 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Thing to remember too is the other record scorers will have taken penalties, Suarez doesn't. Cole, Shearer, Ronaldo, RVP all took penalties.
Its not impossible that he could finish the season with 40 league goals:eek:

I think I'm still harsh on him because the bad elements of his game are particularly infuriating (the aforementioned greedy shots from silly angles) but objectively he's been ****ing class - 2nd best striker in the league this season.

It's well and good Aguero being class but it's not much use if he's never fit.

That's another element of Sturridge's game that's improved.
It felt like he was always having to take a few games to get back into the swing of things injury after injury last season but he hasn't had that this season.
