Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3rd looking good now lads. Even if we win every game it probably wont be enough to win the title.

Ah it will TED, City and Chelsea will both drop points before the end of the season and not just against us.

Everton have a good chance of getting in ahead of Arsenal for fourth after tonight. Who'd have thought that?

Win tomorrow and we are looking brilliant for 3rd.

God knows what culture shock Everton would suffer if they qualified for the CL but if they finish 4th at the expense of Arsenal it would be perfect for Liverpool - the Gunners really really do need CL football to make the whole Wenger project viable.

Think they play each other at Goodison in a week or two

Sounness was that long ago, we weren't that bad as United under Moyes?

We were, even a tad worse I'd say

Thinking confidence would have been that bit more shaken had the ref played on 10 seconds more, the Swansea player (forget who it was) was ahead of the Arsenal defender running through on goal.

I don't see why people think this way.

Isn't that the point of great players?

Would Utd have won league last season without van Persie?
Would Liverpool have won as much in the 80's without Dalglish and later Barnes?

What about teams without Messi and Ronaldo?

    Argentina without Maradonna.
    France without Zidane
    Fulham without Konchesky
    Arsenal without Henry or Viera

Great players make huge contributions but teams should not be criticised for having them. Team did very well without Suarez at end of last season and start of this anyway.

Exactly the sentiments of what I was gonna post. It's a silly comment to be fair on many levels.

I'm not really sure how you chaps saw my comment as a criticism...
Of course we wouldn't be quite as good without our best player.

Honestly don't think it matters. They've been brutal lately and can't see them doing much against City home or away.

    It's a tough one.

Arsenal without CL will be still there or thereabouts next season. Everton in the EL will suffer and Lukaku won't be there.

Everton with the CL could mean they'll be sniffing around the top 4 for a few seasons.

obvious to say, but concentrate (& hopefully win) on each game as it comes now and god knows what will happen, top 3 looking good so far though, at least we r in the mix, feels good

They finished 4th a few years back and got knocked out in the qualifier if i recall correctly ?

They got knocked out to a very good Villarreal side back then, one that made the semi final.

Villareal put them out in 2005, I seem to recall Riquelme scoring a penalty.

That's right - comedy gold! Which became platinum plated when they dropped into the UEFA Cup (as was) Dinamo Bucureşti knocked them out at the first hurdle.

I just read that Bayern has already Won the Bundesliga, in March. Jesus!

With the League done and dusted, they'll have more time to Focus on their CL Campaign, specially against Man U.

Didnt collina come out of retirement for that one game between everton and villareal? And the tin foil hats came out etc...

That league is ridiculous this year...Bayern; 25 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses.

I thought Moyes got the best out of Everton and couldn't understand Evertonian criticism of him, but Martinez (a manager many don't rate!) is starting to show him up. Couple of canny additions and a different attitude in style.

They are 6 points away from matching a very good season under Moyes last year and 8 points from Moyes best ever finish!

It's his first season but pretty damning all the same!

Liverpool is going to host some huge games over the couple of months. It's like the 80's again!

And by the sounds of it, a very strange ref decision to blow up while De Guzman was in on goal from getting the perfect result. Shame there's no MotD tonight or tomorrow to see it. Sounds bizarre.
