Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fair to say the nightmare scenario of us finishing 4th and United winning the CL isn't going to happen

It's almost a pity stage now.

Why? We all have to watch our sides churn out ****e, under perform and wallow in mediocrity. Sometimes that chain of misery is temporarily interrupted, but it generally resumes fairly shortly after

They're just experiencing what fans of every other side go through on a near weekly basis. I don't pity West Ham fans, I don't pity Newcastle fans, so why the fcuk anyone would pity United fans is beyond me.

They could still win 2 nil and go through but I really think a barca or Munich would embarrass them.

As an aside....I put forward Lloyd to start EVERY Utd match thread from now on :D

Apparently we are linked with that Manolas lad playing for Olympiakos. Played well tonight anyway.
i was going to say we should be looking at him
looks a very good defender with very good pace

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,294 ✭✭✭LiamoSail

If anyone is pitying them, Perhaps posting the video of Gerrards goal v Olympiakos in the United thread may help motivate them, give them a bit of a lift?

Almost hope they do come back and win. Bayern v United would be fun

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,073 ✭✭✭Devilman40k

Well at least they will have to come out and go 100% in the 2nd leg. Hopefully expend a lot of energy in the process.

I still think they could win at OT and go through. BUt I would hold no hope of them getting through against one of the big names

Sam Allardyce and Tony Pulis have a better grip on how to handle a football match than Moyes has shown again tonight. Fantastic!

Liverpool are concentrating on the league which has helped them move 11 points clear of Man Utd

Probably just as well seeing how the Europa league would most likely have you back scrapping with the Evertons and man utds of this world had you been in it.

It's not they lost 4-0 lads. They are up against it, but certainly not out yet as it's hardly Bayern they are playing, with all respect to Olympiakos.

Don't be getting ahead of yourself, United will be lucky to make the top 6 and qualify for the EL at this rate.

That thread was already ridiculous. Most of the level headed posters must be losing their minds.

Just this week in that thread people were suggesting that they could get Vidal and Pogba, even Kroos was a viable target. Reus would be wasted there. Liverpool have tough games and they could claw back and challenge for top 4. Putting Liverpool down and would be easily beaten at OT. They were going to win the CL and Liverpool, finishing 4th, will miss out. We have to enjoy it now because next year, according to some, they will win the league......not just challenge but win it. Fantasy stuff. Great entertainment but impossible to read if i was an actual fan wanting to discuss whats happening at Utd.

No tears, United were terrible tonight and all season too. Glad you derive such pleasure from another clubs failures. Liverpools lack of recent success never made my life any better, and to be honest even when your club is winning trophies it's not making your life any better either. United won the league in 2009 but it wasn't much good to me when I was made redundant from my job. But great use of a joke someone else thought up btw, good man.

True, but it's great that the 2nd leg is 3 days after our league meeting with them. Hopefully they'll have one eye on it.

Not at all, the Europa league is noted for stunting the ability of its participants to compete properly in their domestic leagues that's all.

Sorry buddy, I don't take any pleasure from Man United not winning a match, I have far more important things to occupy myself.

I'd prefer to not qualify for the Europa league as it would be a bigger set back than failing to male the top four.

Where was I making fun of Liverpool? The Europa league would have been a pain in the arse for Brendan rodgers I'm sure he's delightedhe hain't had to bother with it this season.

United will not win the Europa league is they qualify for it. They will get knocked out in the group stage and fall further behind in the premier league

You appear to be just confusing yourself now.

Now instead of giving out about our obsession how about discussing the United match instead?
