Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Who said anything about a free? He "had" the ball means he was in control of the ball, as we are talking past tense here. 99% of people will read it as that.

Injuring Jack the lad has probably done them more favours than us.

Well, I did say a prayer that our league opponents players would get injured and that ours would come back injury free. Didnt think it would happen though. Kind of regret it now, I could have prayed for something else instead.

He was another midfield linchpin really.

And? I wasn't exactly quoting anyone when I said it... You kick someone else's foot, you're gonna get hurt and it's his fault for doing so.

Ah see, that's not how it works.

You do what you want, then you pray for forgiveness after. The only foolproof way!
When I was a little boy, I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised, the Lord, in his wisdom, doesn't work that way. So I just stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

He's been fairly sh*t for a while now (bout 3 years :pac:) More interest in rolling around the ground or trying to injure other players.

Ya same guy, the part this idiot forgot is Suarez signed a new contract so his old one is null and void anyway.

Apparently he started this because his dad is a lawyer and said what LFC done was illegal and he should be able to transfer to Arsenal for free due to breach of contract. Wouldn't fancy this guy arguing my defence!

How the league would look if only goals scored by English players counted.

I'm not sure how focused it is on actual debt, seems to be more losses to me. So we'll have to cut our losses from the last few years accounts, which we have done. I suppose it stops City or Chelsea running up huge losses because of massive wage bills bigger than actual turnover, and rich owners subsidising it.
    .

The issue there could again be clubs accruing massive losses in one year, only to benefit from those losses in following years. For arguments sake, Aston Villa could go out and spend £300m on players/ signing on fees this summer. The repercussion being a ban from Europe next year or the year after that. But what in two years, when they're still benefiting from money spent on fees, and no longer banned from Europe?

The issue of the additional wage burden associated in signing expensive players could be got around by inflated initial signing on fees, leaving them compliant there after. The fair method, I would assume would be to account for the total cost of a player, fee and salary, over the length of his contract, hence And Carroll would not appear as a £35m fee in 2011, but as a £7m per year expense over the five years of his contract, with signing on fee & wages treated similarly

The lads repeated the same Donut joke, seemingly another meme in this thread.

I just referenced one with the other :D

That's a delicate balance, is cross referencing.
Observe - I can see Kate Cohen in your fishy hole.

I hope he kung kicks Hodgson in the face at fulltime after scoring two hatricks to destroy England.

England out, Suarez banned. Win win

Never mind Hodgson, aim for Del Bosque, a Real legend. I'm sure Spain would be less appealing to Suarez, and Suarez less so to Madrid if he gave the Soanish manager a round house to the face. Better off having the Spanish media, then the English media on his back if we want him to stay

While that clown obviously has no case, I'd imagine Suarez could still have a case. Irrespective of the contract no longer being valid, there was breach within the lifetime of the contract.

The Bosman case was won long after the contract ceased, and damages awarded when breach of contract was found

Lets not get a head of ourselves before we start that petition.

Probably need a vote first to decide, or perhaps even a petition...

We will have to set up a committee first to discuss how we will go about mapping the parameters of the situation and the implications, so we will need to set up a commission to investigate and then in we can consider the findings before we can even move onto a vote

Lads, need a bit of help please, as I posted a few pages ago the wife has passed the motion to go see the Liverpool Chelsea game while we are on honeymoon back in Ireland. We are only home for 2 weeks and this is the only game which suits us. I have started to hunt down a few tickets but can't find any:(
If anyone has any links/leads or advice I would be grateful.

Nah, it's standard stuff that the new contact includes a clause that all previous contracts are rescinded and the parties confirm that they forego any claims they may have had under the old contract.

It's not an issue any more.
