    Well, they did two last year.
    I wonder if there is a change in the pattern and will do every other year going forward.

    No harm really the standard and quality of the acts have been on the slide for the last while now, no point in running show without a top class acts who could draw the crowds

    Slane is an MCD event, so it won't be Springsteen, as he sticks with Aiken these days.

    It will basically depend on who's touring next year that will sell enough tickets for MCD to justify putting them in Slane rather than Marley Park, etc. for a single gig.
    If there was someone this Summer who could shift enough tickets then they'd probably be there.

    True but if MCD dont want to take a chance with anyone playing Slane and they just put them in Marley Park , Then Aiken could be in with a chance of putting Springsteen.

    I'd imagine MCD have the rights to use the land for several years seeing as they've run the gigs for as long as I can remember (possibly ever?).
    Slane is essentially an MCD/Live Nation/whatever event. Mountcharles is just a nice face to yap on TV about it.

    A massive classic rock day (similar to the old Donnington Monsters Of Rock) would be the only thing I'd consider going to Slane for ..

    Wouldnt sell slane..and doubt either muse or kasabian would sub to either one..
    ACDC planning a 40th anniversary tour according to Rolling Stone.. them and Bruce next year?

    That would be great if they could get it organised even just acdc would make my day. Was hoping the rumours of them playing this year were true but sadly not :(
