Purchased Hi-fi in US, can I plug it in here?

Hi, hoping some smart person can help me out here! I bought a sony hi-fi in the US which has a 2-pin plug. Using a 2pin-3pin converter plug will it work here do you know or do I have to get a spark to do some stuff!?

I'm reluctant to try above as I might blow the system which happened me previously with a router

Read the back of it and make sure its 110-220 volts, otherwise it will be fried.

You'll need a step down transfer to use it here.

I'd be very careful buying a transformer off some of those eBay vendors. For example, one of the items in that listing says '1500W' in the header, repeats 1500W in the description which also says 'not suitable for under 50W' but when you scroll down and click on the photo below the description, you can see clearly stamped on the device: 'for electrical products up to 50W' :eek:

And that's a UK seller with a feedback score of 9,986 with 99.7% positive.

Thanks for advice folks - I'll go to local electrical supplier and ask for step down transformer
