This James McAvoy always seems to be on this programme. Who exactly is he and why is he on the show tonight?

His brother Johnny was popular here in the 70's or was that long long before your time?

FFS. You clearly wanted to know, otherwise why the question.

I do not ever understand this. You would have got an answer within 3 to 20 seconds of googling.

Yeah I wanted to know but I wanted to know the opinions of others as well about him as he features quite regularly on Norton. I think that's one of the reasons posters post- to get an exchange of views. If a poster said he was an incredibly good actor, well I might just start looking into his work. That's all I wanted- just a few opinions. No need to go all FFS on the matter.

The fcuking accent on Ronan.....makes me cringe every time. How does a girl for Carlow sound like a northsider?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,748 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

I always thought she was a Dub.

Moved to Daulkey as a child I think, when they played the radio clip she had a D4ish accent too

Ronan was born on 12 April 1994 in The Bronx, New York City, U.S.[2][3][4][5] She is the only child of Irish parents Monica (née Brennan) and Paul Ronan, who are both from Dublin.[6] Her father worked in construction and bar work before training as an actor[7] in New York,[8] and her mother had acted as a child.[9] Ronan and her parents moved back to Dublin when she was three years old. She was raised for a short time in Ardattin, County Carlow where she attended Ardattin National School,[10] but was later home-schooled by a private tutor.[8] In her early teens, Ronan moved back to Dublin with her parents, settling in seaside village Howth

Pretty easy to see why she has a strange accent

Saoirse Ronan................."It was the first day of the Summer holidays so I rang up to enter the competition"
Saoise Ronan.................."A few days later they sent me a blow up donkey and I brought it into SCHOOL the next day"

    Hmm.

Yeah, he just seemed very interview shy. A lot of actors are like that.

Saoirse is a very good actress but quiet a pain in interviews and I thought on GNS she was ott, a bit much and her tanned legs with pale white face and hands irritated me

Greg's story about wearing his mother's underwear and having a microphone attached to help his hard of hearing pupils hear him was very funny.

    He's a good guest.

Gorgeous man, and such a lovely personality.

The time that he and Greg Davies were on together previously that Graham referred to, was just hilarious.
