Not looking for the magic solution here but a few pointers in the right direction! Say I want to know what shops are opening up in X town/city, what's a good way of going about this? There's the odd Facebook page for towns that may have some relevant info but I think I'm missing out on something. This thread led me here in fact: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056961961 but I don't see anything similar out there.

Still having a look around but struggling to find what I'm looking for. Is what I'm looking for actually not possible to get?

Very unlikely I am afraid, most likely source is http://www.cisireland.com/ for details of planning permissions and tenders etc.

I would say the best thing you will find is the shops opening/closing threads in the regional forums on here! The Galway one seems to be especially active.
