My husband is a stonemason.he has had no work here since '08 in stonework,he's been on CE scheme since but he needs employment.
We are concidering moving to uk,we have 5 young kids so we need to make it work if we can.
My sister in law lives in Leicester and we have been over to her a few times and loved it.
Is the building industry good over there? He also has a forklift and counterbalance licence too

Worth bearing in mind the standard of the schools in the area you move to, especially with 5 kids in tow. I don't know anything about Leicester but some schools in England are very bad indeed (also, you might end up in an area with excellent schools :) ) so beware of the catchment areas.

You may as well start searching for, contacting and networking with stonemasons in Leicestershire. Might be a case of speaking to one that doesn't have a vacancy, but they might know another company that is hiring.

My ole fella always had a soft spot for the county after shipping horses there from Ireland and at one point had a small stables there.

A quick search for stonemasons come up with:
    http://carvero.com/tag/stonemason/

http://www.jobisjob.co.uk/stone-mason/jobs is a jobsite with positions
http://www.mybuilder.com/stonemasons/leicestershire/leicester is a popular site for referred builders and this list of companies should be a good starting point.
    http://www.yell.com/s/stonemasons-leicester.html Yellow pages

Seems to be plenty of companies around...just got to start searching and putting in the effort to contact them

Do you work yourself? I would imagine your sister would be able to answer any questions regarding schools etc. Construction is busy in the UK, plus if your husband is a stonemason, he can obviously build blocks/labour and can probably run jobs. One of my Dad's mates who is 50 went over last year as a qualified stonemason to Coventry, he got work with a construction company and he is now working as a foreman with them. Get networking and get in touch with anyone his age that you know working in Construction in the UK.

Thanks for that,I'm not working here at the minute,
My sil has given me some info on the schools.
Yep hubby does brick/block and labouring too,
I suppose he will really just need to get over there and get contacting people now
