UPC box and HD

Hi, My UPC box is starting to act up a bit, its grey Thompson one, about 5+ years old. If i ring UPC to complain and they send a replacement box, will it connect via HDMI? - and if so will i get basic HD channels ( rte/bbc's ) for free? I DO NOT have the HD extra package.

My UPC box is starting to act up a bit, its grey Thompson one, about 5+ years old.
If i ring UPC to complain and they send a replacement box, will it connect via HDMI? - and if so will i get basic HD channels ( rte/bbc's ) for free? I DO NOT have the HD extra package.

The will be reluctant to give you a HD box without a HD package.

I have the free HD channels but no longer the HD pack.

They'd be delighted to give a horizon box though.
