Daisy chaining a single extra socket onto a surge protector strip

    I have a 4 socket surge protector strip which I use to power the following:
    Computer: ~450W max
    Monitor: 30W
    Speakers: 140W max
    Lamp: 15W

    I'll be getting a new monitor tomorrow, and instead of buying a new 6 socket surge protector, I was thinking of just using one of those cube adapters to plug the two lowest power devices into a single socket on my existing surge protector, so I'll have all 5 devices on the one strip.

    I'm assuming that since I'm only going to have a 45W draw on the cube adapter it should be pretty ok?

    In general, you should try to avoid double/treble adaptors.

    Considering the small load, I wouldn't have a problem using one in this case. Stick to the lowest wattage as you have already said for extra safety.

    In general, they pose little danger unless completely overloaded.
