Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Aftermarket exhausts - thoughts

I have a Bandit GSF 650, I like the look of the bike except for the exhaust. It looks too big and bulky and like it doesn't belong on the bike as far as I'm concerned.

This wasn't really an issue when I didn't have the cash to do anything about it but I have a few quid and thinking about one or other of these

    or
    http://www.beowulfuk.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SU042OBSS38

Has anyone got any deep insights on exhausts or these brands in particular?

The bike is factory restricted and that suits me fine, I'm doing this for aesthetics rather than any improved performance. A nice throaty rumble wouldn't be a bad thing just to let cars know I'm there as I filter but I don't want to go overboard on that side of things either.

    Thanks,

    Shane

YouTube the exhausts and your bike to hear how they'll sound. Both are decent brands so get whichever you like the sound of.

The Beowulf is a beautifully made bit of kit.

I got a Viper on mine and there's a decent howl off it. I don't know what people think of the brand but I'm happy with it.

When i had a bandit i just whipped out the baffle in the standard exhaust and it was a lot louder. Sounded nice too.
But since your going for Aesthetics i would pick the beowulf depending on your bike color though.

Herself has a Carbon Can Company pipe on her SV.

Lovely note, not loud, lovely tone.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I'll throw another one in the mix
    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Muffler-Exhaust-ARROW-DARK-SUZUKI-GSF-650-1250-BANDIT-/310777446051?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item485bc77ea3

Plenty of cheaper ones on e-bay that are good value for money.
Probably no increase in performance but sound good and look better than stock ones.
Some guys with Yoshi's and Akrapovic might turn their nose's up at them but maybe a touch of snobbery there.

If I had to choose out of the 3 of them it would be the Arrow exhaust by a longshot!!

Devil exhausts are very good, always loved the deep rumbling tones of them...

Ive arrows on mine, and cause they're quite short, with the baffles out, they are very (very) loud

and with the baffles in, they make less power then the stock exhausts... but they look nice, so whatever floats your boat! :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,025 ✭✭✭Wossack

oh, and Ive a zx6 with a full akra system on it, and its quieter then the arrows sans baffles - theyre that loud
