Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What are good sites / blogs to read up on topics such as tactics, style of play or things that would be described mainly as off-topic?
Google searches return the vague results when i'm looking to research things like the ' key differences in styles of play between english and spanish leagues ' ( i know what they are , just using as an example ) , or an article on psg's playing style ( would be interesting seeing as how they're turning into a decent side ) or other things like 'why is there such a lack of funding and money in Italy?' which is contributing to the Italian league's lack of teams who you'd be genuinely afraid of playing?

All in all trying to stay away from the 'generic player & club' news stories

anything at all will be helpful, cheers

Do a search for Michael Cox, he does zonalmarking, but also writes for a number of other sites including the Guardian.

Read "Inverting The Pyramid" by Jonathon Wilson, pretty good book on the history and evolution of tactics.

In Bed With Maradona certainly have the offbeat stuff covered. They do a list every year called "The 100" detailing that number of young players as well, which always turns up names I'd never heard of before.

ESPN's football section is actually surprisingly decent. Michael Cox for example will often put up articles that aren't on his site, or a take on the game that's more in-depth on one area of the game or facet of play that he didn't focus on in the Zonal Marking blog of the game.

French Football Weekly is A site about French football...though I'm not in a position to say how good it is. It's in English and it was at the bottom of The Guardian's Football page, and I'll take what I can get for this post.

James Horncastle knows his onions about Italian football and that's his blog.
