Hi, I'm pretty much down to these two systems for our kitchen and am looking at a package with Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 speakers.

Reviews for the Teac are few and far between while the Yamaha seems to get excellent reviews. I was really looking for something with bluetooth built in which the Teac has covered. I possibly would consider a seperate bluetooth interface for the Yamaha if they can match the performance of built-in bluetooth.
Is the Teac going to be much better for Bluetooth?

Also, the Yamaha has an Ipod/Iphone dock, since I only use an iPad this isn't much use so my next question is if the Yamaha usb port is Apple enabled like the Teac is? If it's not then that pretty much seals it for the Teac.

    Any thoughts on the above?

Could I get a quote for the black Teac with the Wharfedale speakers (or your best deal/recommendation) and cables/connectors including delivery to Wicklow please?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

That's a tough choice between the two, both great systems :)

I've honestly no idea why there isn't raving reviews everywhere on the Teac, it's a fantastic system!  Teac have have always been spot on with their systems and I've never heard any complaints.  John actually installed one himself for a customer and he couldn't believe how good it was.

The Yamaha is a nice little system too, sounds great.  And the Ipod dock is handy.  The USB would work with the Ipad ok.  But the lack of bluetooth is off putting.

For what you're after I reckon the Teac is the way to go :)

Unfortunately the Wharfdale speakers are completely out of stock at the moment.  If you don't mind spending a bit more I'd suggest matching the system with the Monitor Audio BX1s.  Lovely little bookshelf speaker, would go along nicely with the Teac.  I can offer the Teac, speakers, cable and delivery for just £352.89 (knocked £20 of the speakers retail there for ya :) )

Check the link below for more info on the BX1s:

Let me know what you think.

Diamond 9.0's are due in next week ( after many weeks out of stock) but both of those systems will drive F A R better speakers than the Diamond 9.0 and the BX1 or BX2 would be excellent!

Thanks a million guys! The unit is for a fairly small kitchen so I'm happy enough with smaller speakers (until it gets re-homed in a larger room) ideally with front ports so I can have them against the wall. I might wait for the Wharfedale's to come back in stock, in the mean time I'm tempted by the Cambridge Audio S30's even though they have the rear port, could you give me a package price for the Teac, S30's in Oak and cables please?

    Hi again,

    No problem at all :)

The S30s are a nice little speaker.  We're currently clearing them at £99.95.  Down to our last 2 pairs.  Will be sad to see them go.   So for the Teac, speakers and delivery you're looking at £272.89.

How much cable would you need?  I didn't include cable in the price above, I'm sure I can sort something out for you there tho ;)

Let me know what you think.
