Mortgage Interest Relief Reduction

I have seen a significant reduction in my mortgage interest relief since January - approx. 30% reduction. I am in the 3rd year of my mortgage so it is much more than I would have expected in the reduction from 25% to 22.5%. Is this correct? Was there changes in the budget that effected Mortgage Interest Relief?
