    Hi,

I'm looking for options for a small av amp, my current NAD one is just too big!

I've seen the Pioneer vsxs range, I'm just wondering what other options might be around?

    I don't need 7.1 as it'll be solely used in 2.1

    cheers

    Hi Jaybeeveedub.

The pioneer VSXS range are nice sounding amps. There are very few units of this design on the market to fit in small spaces.

The only one available at present is the VSXS310 priced at £299.95

You should also look at the Marantz NR1504 which is priced at £253.00

Its really only Pioneer and Marantz that produce amps of this size.

I hope this is of help, any further questions please ask.

    JB,

    another 2 options for you:

The Yamaha RXS600 - slimline and sounds great - we do this one to order at just £499.95
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/av-receivers/yamaha/rxs600/yama-rxs600-blk

..However if I was you and you were looking for an excellent AVR that sounds great, I'd go for a Marantz - not the NR1504, but the NR1604 which has been massively reduced to £349.95 / €439.99 - I'm guessing that if you are replacing a NAD AVR that's its either a 316 or the amazing 716 - these were excellent ( esp the 716) - the NR1604 would be the match of even the 716AV in every respect and of course it has lots of nice features including Airplay and internet radio etc! , but more especially it just sounds brill!

    Have a look here:
    http://us.marantz.com/us/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?CatId=avreceivers&ProductId=NR1604

I've just had a quick check online and at the reduced €439 price we are over €200 cheaper than most places in the ROI advertising this AVR

Thanks again for the post and drop us a line if we can assist in any way of of course if you have any queries,
