Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Never thought i would see this matchup with Palace being the form side

I think we might be in for a shock in this one, United to nick a draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

If Palace go all out defence and try hit us on the counter who knows what could happen if we still persist with the crossing.

We should have a game of guess how many crosses.

    I will go 58;)

United to thrash Palace and this to be the turning point as United stage a late surge to third place and win the Champions League.

Nah just joking. I can't see us losing but wouldn't be surprised if it was a draw.

    Comfortable United win...0-2 minimum...

  • Registered Users Posts: 792 ✭✭✭KombuchaMshroom

I think most United fans would be delighted to see that probable lineup starting, but odds are we won't come near in.
Valencia, Cleverley, coming in, Rafael not at right back, and at least one of Mata or Januzaj dropped are strong possibilites.

Wouldn't even be too surprised to see Mata rested saving him for Tuesday night with Moyes not realising he will be ineligible. (I'll just preemptively highlight that this is obvious hyperbole)

    Utd's poor form can't continue. 1-2

I said that after the first 4 defeats this season. 5 more later and there's still not a single shred of improvement seen. They're rubbish.

Oh I fear it can. Hoping for a Utd victory but can see this ending a draw.

Like that team. Hopefully more 4-2-3-1 than 4-4-2

    Comfortable 2-0 away win.

I've it in my head Selhurst is quite a narrow pitch so may suit that. Hope to these that front 4 more now we've nothing really to play for

I can see Ince getting some joy out of Vidic and Ferdinand.

7-12 with that front four and that defence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,387 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Kagawa in for Adnan and that team is just about what I want to see. There can't be much crossing today can there?

I said pretty much the exact same thing in the united thread.

Just realised this, hopefully not another disaster. Can't happen twice can it?

Itll be the usual Val at RB if a CB is injured or Smalling himself gets injured

We have Michael Keane back now dont we?

Why would people prefer to see Kagawa instead of Adnan? Aside from the fact that Adnan is in form and that Kagawa has done fcuk all to deserve a start, surely Kagawa Rooney and Mata would all get in each others way?

Because Kagawa is a far better player than Januzaj in every way.

Sometimes I really think you and me are watching different teams, never agree with you and the above confirms that.

There is absolutely no way that Januzaj is a better player than Kagawa. He could become one but it was proven (not that it needed to be) a few weeks ago when Januzaj was terrible through the middle against Swansea. Kagawa moves there and the whole team play better and more fluid. Rooney, Mata and Kagawa with Carrick and Fellaini behind them doing a proper job of covering the full backs would be poetry in motion, as much as that sounds like AndersonIsGod :pac:. I don't see how anyone can watch both players and have a different opinion tbh.

Fair enough I just think Kagawa has done nothing in the PL while Adnan has been abit of a shining light this season. We can disagree. :)

What's Januzaj done to elevate him to shining light status? He's been poor for a while now.

I forgot how much Rio and Vidic are fond of needlessly hoofing the ball forward. Could be a long day.

Januzaj is far more comfortable out wide than Kagawa. Play Kagawa centrally and their is no discussion of who is better.

That's why Rio is a defender

United -3 would be my bet.

Great to see Fellaini being in the box there

What's the cross count so far?

That was probably the worst attempt I've ever seen at an attempted pass (I think that's what it was supposed to be) by Smalling :pac:

    Has Januzaj changed hairdresser?

Did United always defend free kicks so deep?

    Fellaini is looking solid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,387 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

    Unlucky Januzaj.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,006 ✭✭✭beno619

Fellainni starting well, too high up the pitch for my liking though.. Were playing with three CAM's which crowds the pitch.

Carrick is going to be exposed on the break if Fellaini doesn't sit back..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭miralize

The hoofball to Fellaini tactic has started!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,500 ✭✭✭Your Airbag

20 mins in and what do we think?

    I'm liking it so far.

There seems to be less emphasis on getting it wide and crossing on every attack although it is going wide at times

Fellaini has been instructed to push high up the pitch, Rooney is dropping deep and there seems to be more central link up play in the final third than usual.

    it really hasnt

there is nothing wrong with using that now and then, even just to give their defence something else to worry about. Fell want to the back post and Adnan looked to go direct to him.
