Maybe I'm pocket talking. Let me have a watch back in an hour.

Winner impressive but jockey wasn't too interested in going after the winner ideal prep for March I think.

Vic stole it. Just before 1 out kicked on, not sure Jockey on Tilla saw that, before he knew what happened he was to far gone to claw it back over 1f

He absolutely cruised into it. Heavy ground off for a year, that will put him spot on.

    Done at 1.16

Won't be winning any champion bumper that thing

Yeah that was grand. Forms in the book from last years race, so its not like a normal bumper horses balloon getting burst

Some jockeys are too confident on these short priced well fancied horses. They think they can give the horse a lot to do and it will indeed do it.

Nope. Short priced Tony Martin horses are a sure fire way to the poor house. I expect that horse to be much better at Cheltenham.

Watched it again. He either blew up, had no interest in beating him up, or realised hed let him go and left it. He came pulling a train into the straight. I'm worried he found absolutely nothing, and didnt show us that turn of foot, but all is not lost. May be the case that winner was hard, hard fit and had his Derby today. Time will tell.

That was gutting. He'll be winning no bumper I'm afraid.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭carpothepunk

Don't think I agree with that. Like I said from the start, March is the day.

I thought it was pretty clear he wasn't going to be put into the race if it meant getting into a battle. That's what would of ensued. Outside of that he won't be winning the bumper even though the pace and track will probably suit better. It makes you wonder about the briar hill, liquidator and regal encore form (even if they are over hurdles now)

**** it lads. He hasn't a whole pile behind him and the winners previous form wasnt too much.
He's gone out to 16s for the bumper and I wont be backing at that price even

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭carpothepunk

I'll be backing him at 16s anyway.

The festival is only 2 and a half weeks away.
They definitely weren't out to give him a hard time of it. But I would be seriously worried that he won't be fit enough come the day.
I haven't backed him nor will I be.

It just doesn't seem an ideal prep for a hardened true test that the bumper is. Good look to anyone involved though.

I think he'd like quicker ground. He only tried for a few yards and realised the game was up, too much to do. Winner was impressive.

Any post race comments from the Tilla camp Carpo?

Maybe the question should be how good is vic. While tilla never really came off the bridle, he didn't seem match fit. Vic didn't really move into fifth gear either.

Just back from Naas. I went with the intention of laying him for all I had & backing him back for the champion bumper if he got beat. Layed him a bit too soon as I could have copped a few quid extra if I had left it until the off but what harm. I'm going to back him back now & sit back & see what happens in 2 weeks time. I didnt think he'd ever win today, after such a lay off it was always going to be a spin around.

Hasn't a hope in the bumper.

Anyone know what horses worked after racing at Naas?

Read online that Ruby let a shout at Patrick Mullins after the race "another one for the boat" think that Vic horse surprised the Mullins camp today.

I think Top Cop will win tomorrow backed it at 4/1 first at Wolv, think it will go off about 9/4
