Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thinking about doing this spin on Sat/Sun if the weather is decent.

    Wondering would that be an OK route on a 125cc? Just want to make sure there's no hills/slopes etc I'll be struggling on etc.

    Will be with a few friends on larger bikes.

    You be fine on a smaller machine especially if there are a good few riders you would never lose sight of them. One thing I will say if a spin is going ahead you will need 2-3 peeps to marshal the route so nobody gets lost or takes a wrong turn etc etc.

    Sorry, might have been confusing. When I said 'doing this spin' I meant to say I'll be taking that route with a few friends. It's not a big organised thing or anything.

    I have this https://cdn2.louis.de/content/catalogue/articles/zusatz/anl/10003695_ANL_D_GB_13.pdf charger for a while now. Im not sure if the charger is faulty or not. Is there any way to test the charger using a voltmeter ? I bought a battery about 4 weeks ago which I have yet to use and after its initial cycle it shows up as defect. I will take the good battery form my bike and test it the weekend but I just want to rule out a defective charger.

    That's fine on a 125, most of the road up to sally gap is fairly twisty and bumpy, you can't really go that fast on it.
    Speed picks up when you turn at Sallys Gap towards Roundwood, that's a great section of road.

    Well lads. Just wondering if there will be any problem bolting a tax disc holder to the bolt that holds the exhaust to the passenger foot peg. Fairly sure the heat won't sink up to it but just want to double check!

    You could check after your next spin if that bolt gets hot but I imagine that its fine.

    I'd recommend (strategically) placing it on your reg though.

    Lads, can anyone tell me... Ducati's (or in this case Multistrada 1200)with around 30'000 miles.....is it better to stay clear?

    Did you have one in particular in mind ? I personally wouldn't touch a Ducati , no matter what model.

    Yes,I went looking at one today.
    Its an 1200s so a serious bit of kit,electronic suspension and the works.
    A bit worried is it at the stage when things start going wrong.
    And if it is, I think the size of repair bills could be colossal!

    I'm looking for a big big fast V-twin!
    I'm doing most of my spining on my Mille R and and would like something with a bit more comfort and better on back roads and bumps.

    I think ive got a bit bored of the ZZR as compared to the Mille it's probably too smooth.

    Ducati's are expensive to fix.

    Straight away on that thing i would be ringing up garages and asking how much to get the valve clearances checked/Adjusted because if it hasnt been done it needs to be.
    Ducati put more race track technology into their bikes than others, desmo valves etc and you could be talking absolutely huge money to get even that done, few mechanics capable of doing it and it takes triple the labour charges of most bikes.

    Once its looked after though and thats done I would think it should be fine, 30k is nothing.

    If you can fix most stuff yourself its fine, if you go to the garage for everything I would street clear.

    Belts and valve clearance done.
    He told me it has full service but I still need to check that out.
    Any throttle body issues?
    A friend had a new 1098 and it gave a lot of time in theback of a van going up and down to Dublin.

    I'm 140 miles from Dublin so could do without that hassle.

    I suppose it depends, if I had to commute on one every day in all weathers, I probably wouldn't. But for weekends, definitely.

    Any good independents in cork? Mototechnic in Dublin are ducati specialists, any questions or things need done, I go there.

    Well having been burned (fnar fnar :pac:) by a particular shop it put me off the brand. Saying that Mototechnic are amazing, although out of warranty repairs will stack up price wise if something serious goes wrong.

    I dont know anyone i'd bring a Ducati to in Cork.
    Mototechnics have done some of the work on the bike.

    Ducati's are amazing. Sure they need more work and attention but there is something very special about them. I'd love a Multistrada. Some people have some really bad luck - I had my fair share of small issues with mine (Monster 620 and 749) but it would not put me off. It's like dating a really hot bird. Sure she can be temperamental and she'll cost you a fortune but dam she'll put a smile on your face! :D

    Actually I was told yer man that had the Multistrada bought a new BMW S1000xr and is now sorry he didn't buy a new Multistrada.:pac:

    Another thing is, I'd be selling something I know is bulletproof and buying something that could start playing up.

    I'd say have a look on the Ducati forums. Multis are fairly popular, so loads of info. I did that when I bought my Hyper.

    I'd have bought a multi if I had the money, amazing bikes. If you're using it as a workhorse, I wouldn't go for it, but anything else I would take the chance. Life is to short, buy the bike with the heart, if you're buying with the head we'd all be riding around on fúcking deauvilles.

    Stop changing your username! That burnt bike was unfortunate, I'll give you that. But amazing looking bike before that, I don't know much about Diavals though

    I haven't changed my username, this is the one I always had since I registered !! :confused:
