Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Looking good.
The electrician that wired mine ran the wires for the sockets through the box iron frame so very neat job.

Also, not sure if you have enough height but a bit of a loft could come in handy.
I thought I had loads of room when I got my shed but bit by bit it started filling up.
Added a loft a few weeks ago

    7m x 4m
Go as big as possible as no matter what size u have it'll keep getting smaller and smaller the more you put in it.

Jesus man, I think your missus has access to your boards account, I'd consider changing your password to stop this innuendo, that just sounds wrong dude! :D

Cheers for the advice Blade1 I was actually only looking and the height of the roof when it was put up thinking I might get a mini loft down the centre.

I will be wiring it myself so I know everything will be neat and where I want it.
Thinking of ply lining the hole lot of it and then paining a bright colour like white or something.

I am probably going to build a small room at the back also to keep my gear etc.

Amazon.... I just think the service from them is awesome and generally the prices are hard to beat especially with how sterling is now

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-3004A-FFP-8-inch-Square/dp/B009VYBFBO/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1479301338&sr=8-5&keywords=torque+wrench
that will do 44nm 12 inches long

As recommended before the halfords professional range. I picked one up for €99 I think 6 month ago.

I'd be very wary of Draper stuff.
This is the one I have good lad.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141583945888

Good NM range on that too. I will pick one up later.
I still dont know if its small enough for me to get under the bike and onto the lowering link bolts though. Might need a really long socket extension bar

    get an abba skylift :D

Yep thats something i have been looking at for a while now. I think it will happen eventually but my shed isnt gigantic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,882 ✭✭✭frozenfrozen

yeah I really want one too but don't have the space and it's too much money for me at the moment. Was looking at the superbike stand instead.

careful with the torque wrench and extensions, I think it's grand with straight extensions but anything with an angle is a no go as it'll change the torque actually being applied. I need to buy a torque wrench too as well as everything else

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,224 ✭✭✭goodlad

Ah yeah i would only use a straight bar extension. Just gotta make sure its on solid and straight before applying pressure. I dont think there is any way to get at those bolts without a lift so i will look for a really long socket extension

Got this email from MAG Ireland :(
    ...

    **Extraordinary General Meeting 2016**

Takes place at Dublin Harley Davidson, Unit 6, Red Cow Retail
Centre, Turnpike Rd, Ballymount, Dublin 22

**Saturday the 10th of December, 13.30 hrs**

LATITUDE: 53.3173 LONGITUDE: -6.3617 for those with satnav

**An Extraordinary General Meeting of MAG Ireland (The Irish
Motorcyclists’ Association) has been called for Saturday 10th
December and you are invited to attend.**

    **Background:**

The Annual General Meeting for 2016 took place in Mulvanney’s
of Dunboyne, Co.Meath on Saturday 24th September 2016 at 2:00pm.
There were not sufficient members present to form a quorum and,
as a result, the AGM could not proceed.

In accordance with the constitution the existing executive
continued in a caretaker capacity and an EGM was arranged to
decide the future of the association. If at all possible, members
are requested to attend. If you cannot attend, you may nominate
another member to represent you (proxy vote). Please note we
need, at a minimum, sufficient members present in person to form
    a quorum on the day.

    **Objective of the EGM:**

The objective of the EGM is deciding the future shape and
direction of the association including the election of the
executive, setting of policy and organisational goals for the
    coming year.

**What happens if the EGM is successful?**

The elected representatives of the membership (the executive)
will run the association in pursuit of the policies agreed by the
membership at the EGM. The nature and extent of lobbying work
carried out by the executive will be contingent on the number of
    elected representatives.

**What happens if the EGM is unsuccessful?**

The association will immediately cease to accept new members. The
existing executive will continue in a caretaker role with the
objectives of (i) representing the current membership, and (ii)
overseeing the orderly winding up of the association. When the
last membership subscription expires, all remaining assets will
transfer to F.E.M.A. (The Federation of European Motorcyclists’
Associations) in accordance with the constitution and the
organisation will cease to exist on 31st December 2017.

**What will it take to ensure the association continues to
represent my interests as a rider?**

First, we want to say thank you for your previous support. It’s
because you and likeminded individuals subscribed to MAG that we
have had a voice at all. The success of any organisation is down
to the commitment of the people who actively participate and,
over the past number of years we have had a dwindling number of
active participants. We hope you can help us to change that by
attending the EGM where you and the other members present can and
    will decide what happens next.

**My membership has expired, can I attend?**

You can renew on the day from 13.00. In the event that the EGM is
unsuccessful you will be refunded you membership immediately.

    Scrap the cap!

I'm looking for 450 for it. It's got a couple of adapter sets with it and little extras from Abba. It's been made redundant recently so no need for it until I have another moment of madness and get a different bike :pac:

It'd be sad to see MAG go, and damaging for biking in Ireland.

I was involved with it for some years, both frustrating and rewarding but worthwhile, I left about 8 years ago when we had kids, somewhat shamefully I actually let my membership lapse a couple of years ago without even realising. Still got occasional emails about stuff. I didn't get one about the AGM in Sept which didnt' have a quorum, presumably only active members got that, but they seem to have widened the call to lapsed members now.

Anyway, anyone can turn up and join on the day, like em or loathe em they're the only people doing anything in this country in the interest of bikers.

I'm now entering my second week off the road. Water pump sprung a big leak, the new one has been in Parcel Motel's depot since Tuesday morning and hasn't moved since

Edit: just now (after 9PM Sat) got a message that it's reached the locker. I'd given up on it arriving before Monday so that's good I suppose, but it still took 4 days to move a few miles. Hopefully all will go well and I'll be back on the road...
