with the current tyres the back roads can be a little dodgy when on mud, but hoping mission trails will sort that.
Otherwise the weight isn't an issue, I've all the heavy gear in the bottom of the panniers and balanced out.
the top boxwas used to carry food and an icebag with beer.

Yeah, Dad recommended them to me, he's taken his across south america and europe without any issues

I know I can get a grab on a bolt at a more acute angle than with my draper expert and teng allens with the ball on these. That's hugely useful but I don't use the ball for high torque applications if poss, they can shear as there's less meat on the bone.
I'm enjoying using them but I'm an easily amused fella:)

The gent I’m buying GPZ1000 from gave the bike a good going over today including a test ride of 8-10 miles, everything went well until he got it back to his shop. Then the fork seal pissed itself, when he took off the dust seal he was amazed to find a shoe lace inside the fork, presumably to soak up the oil. Having fully checked it over it’s just a seal that’s needed and while he was hoping to get it to me tomorrow, it’ll be next week now as the new seals will need to be ordered on Monday.

She’s running Metzler Roadtec 01’s, very little else can be gotten for it

Shoelace is for amateurs, a pro would've drained all the oil from the offending leg. No oil = no oil leak. Sold.

replace it all with some liquid rubber, that has the same effect right?

Jeez, I had to cancel a road trip in 2004 to the GPz Euro Fest because I couldn't get an 18" rear for my GPz, impossible to obtain Europe-wide and I had a plug in mine, it might have done the trip but only just! I eventually got a sh!tty Pirelli.

There's no problem getting tyres.
You're just limited to choice.

Metzler lasertec or Pirelli sport demons are probably the two easy to get ones.

Speaking of roadtec.
I'd say the last time I had them was on a NSR125 around 1991.
