Put on the long johns and vest today and well glad I did, next up will be the muffs, think I'll have to get a pair of shorty levers to stop them interfering with the muffs (rear brake light staying on). Someone posted before about shorties but the link didn't have them for a TDM 850, might just hacksaw em off to stop the interference.

No problem with using a pinlock in darkness.

I went and bought a Shoei Qwest. Looking forward to testing it in the morning. I will eventually want to mount my camera. Due to an irregular shaped helmet the Sony adhesive mount does not mount flush. Im sure a fix is to use a 3M double sided tape to give extra center material to allow a better flusher fit. What im not sure is how well 3M tape will stick to the sont adhesive pad? Or to put it another way will mounting 3M tape to 3M tape be as strong as 3M to plastic?

P.s This will be my first time to use a pinlock. Lets hope it lives up to all the hype. I was also surprised to read that it shouldnt be used during darkness?? first I heard of this

Ive a go Pro secured to my Qwest. Never fallen off to date and works fine

    details here

Never saw that mentioned. That said, I notice a good bit of 'lens flare' at night if it's in any way damp, due to looking through two visors pretty much. Nothing mad though, perfectly fine to use.

No problem with using a pinlock in darkness.

just to add, no problem using a clear pinlock in darkness - but there are tinted ones, and even some autotinting ones

Well my current Suomi is a small fitting, and the HJC R-PHA 10 I tried on yesterday was a small fitting and it was nice and snug, and lightweight too.

So Im taking a gamble and hoping that this X-Lite in small size will be a snug fit too.
And its a bit lighter than the HJC,so thats even better.:)

I was just about to buy a HJC Ben Spies Monster Energy R-HPA 10 series 2,but I then read about poor ventilation, visor misting and the tinted visors cracking and peeling only after a month of use.
    So I decided against it.

I have the RPHA-10 Monster Spies replica and its still perfect after nearly 3 yrs, would get one again in a heartbeat TBH.

Good to know and hear from the real world.
I just saw your video review of it on Youtube.:)

The series 2 Monster Energy Spies helmet was the 1 I was going for.Not nmade anymore 550 us dollars which is 510 euro and it would have suited the paint scheme on my R1 (Ben Spies WSBK paint).

But I think Im after getting a better deal with the X-Lite carbon helmet and dark visor.Im not too gone on the white and motogp logo, but looks are not the important thing here with regards a helmet.
I rekon I will like it once I see it in the flesh, well I hope so anyway.:pac::D

Sweet lid, was thinking of one myself, but its more for race bikes and not for more upright riding like the TDM. That said, I've no intention of doing a track day, so maybe....:)

    Thanks.
Praying that its a good fit.:)

My head size is bang on 56cm and small size for the X-Lite is 55-56cm.

Was great, pity about the company :p

MT-09 rip around Birmingham was the highlight for me, followed by the dirt biking. Totally forgot I had luggage on the bike, good thing I didn't have to filter. Have to say its a cracking bike!

Sorry but the Norton commando & dominator were the best looking bikes along with the new VFR800, blade and MV Brutale. Best birds were the dunlop and carol nash ;)

Great spot to get deals too, picked up some nice Ts and a new jacket. We were like the SATC girls  Wonda was such a Samantha!

Please explain Collie, they let you drive around the streets of Birmingham? that would lead to a few lads acting the bóllix, did you have to transfer insurance etc?

And... Samantha....... Fox? Now Wondas a good looking lad but he's no Samantha Fox :0, although with all those burgers, I believe his moobs are gaining on Sam :D
