    Hi guys

I'm bringing my mother away for a weekend in March and want to surprise her with not only the break away but also some new clothes for it.. I've been looking online but can't really find anything mature-ish if you get me?

Does anyone know any sites where I may find something along those lines? She's a size 16, about 5 foot 6 or 7 and she'd wear the occasional dress for a big occasion but normally sticks to tops and trousers but I want to find something nice for her to wear as she's going to be going to both a concert, a few nights in a hotel and out for dinners etc.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks a million. :)

Simply be and Marks and spencers would be good for her age and size.

Isn't Gerry Webber the ultimate brand for that kind of stuff? :D I guess Betty Barclay would be another, although I buy sometimes from them. I don't know where toget them online but it seems that half of the independent boutiques in the country stock them.

I think these 'magic' dresses from M&S might be worth a look. Although I doubt that many older ladies would wear the sleeveless one. I really like the others though.

If you are in Dublin you could try Gerard in the Ilac Centre. The staff there are really helpful

Another shop which might suit would be Carraig Donn. They have branches all over the country

Be careful. Why does she mostly wear trousers and tops? Probably because she's most comfortable in them. I'd steer clear of anything too dressy. You want her to feel glam but if she's going to feel overdressed she's not going to be comfortable and be able to relax and enjoy her break. I'd stick to a good pair of trousers (or dressy black jeans if she's young at heart) and a couple of special tops. A pair of shoes that may not be quite what she'd usually buy herself could make it extra special too. But again, remember the comfort. That's what I'd want if my daughter was to treat me anyhow. One way or the other she's a lucky mother to have a lovely thoughtful daughter (or son - note to self, don't make assumptions!) like you
