I think you got that the wrong way around.
If you bought a new Renault surely you'd want to put the badges from an old Suzuki on it to save face.

I read that as he had a lada, 124 years ago, and thought yeah that's about right the styling would still have been dated

Nothing like having a classic that starts in the morning-and stops when its supposed to. Cosmetic work I wouldn't approve of but don't see a problem with modernising the mechanicals.

What effect is this gonna have here ???

New EU Legislation on classic car definition

Proposed new legislation will require annual roadworthiness testing to make reference to the car’s original ‘technical characteristics.’ Your classic may be subject to (and fail) the new test if it doesn’t fit the EU’s definition of a ‘historic vehicle’, which is defined as one that:

Was manufactured more than 30 years ago

Is maintained by use of replacement parts which reproduce the historic components of the vehicle

Has not sustained any change in the technical characteristics of its main components such as engine, brakes, steering or suspension

Has not been changed in its appearance................

Load of nonsense-first thing i did was upgrade the brakes- then binned the points. Dont mind doing a roadworthy test provided its done by a specialist or someone sympathetic to classics- the nct at balymun is like throwin a pork chop to pirahna

Always thought they mucked things up after the original Range Rover, it had the right credentials, but then they started adding air suspension and the rest is history :(

I love to see the old RR's / LC's 'modernised' but retaining their basic strengths

I see a German co. http://www.toms-fahrzeugtechnik.de/fahrzeuge/klassiker/index.html are offering an 'Africa spec' new Land Cruiser VDJ200 (Amazon)
The new Toyota Land Cruiser VDJ 200 (internal: J20) is a completely new model on its own platform. For the first time in the history model are V8 engines exclusively offered. We offer the Landcruiser VDJ 200 in a so-called Africa Version: largely not equipped with electronics and with a conventional coil spring suspension . Our "stripped down" version of the Africa Land Cruiser 200 VDJ it can be very comfortable in a serious, robust and extremely powerful expedition vehicle turn! You can of course also get many of the available assistance systems surcharge. VDJ The Land Cruiser 200 offers permanent all-wheel drive and a power transmission with switchable low range gearing. It is based on the strengths of the heavy-duty models and also has the comfort and convenience of a luxury sedan. Dependable, solid, easily and enormously powerful: the new Toyota Land Cruiser 200 VDJ

I'd love a riva especially an early 2104, and I'm very sorry I passed up on one a couple of years ago. If I had it I think I'd slam it and paint it this.
