Locatelli's fish and lentils will work as well on smoked cod as it does on fresh cod, if you do a google search it'll come up on the guardian site

Nigella does a smoked cod and cannellini one-pot http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/smoked-cod-and-cannellini-beans-14

Poach it in some milk and chopped onion until soft and starting to flake. Remove from the poaching liquor and add some butter and flour to make a sauce. Server with mashed potatoes and peas with the sauce drizzled over. Yummy!

Salivating at all the recipes on this, originally looked for a risotto recipe as I do love a smoked haddock risotto topped with a poached egg. Nom

    Kedgeree -
Poach the fish in milk/water. Keep some of the liquid and use it to cook some basmati rice using the absorption method.
Take a large wedge of butter, melt it in a saucepan then add a finely chopped onion and about 3/4 teaspoon of curry powder.
Hard boil one egg per person and chop into big pieces.
Cook some green vegetables, frozen peas are good.
When the onion is soft, add everything into the saucepan and mix everything thru.

I think this recipe came from the Good Granny cookbook.

Slice the fish into strips and dip in egg. Roll in flour seasoned with salt and pepper.

Fry in light olive oil until crisp and tender.

Eat on top of a large salad dressed with extra virgin olive oil and white wine vinegar.

    Bliss.

Here is a good Nigel Slater recipe for smoked haddock with cream and broccoli.

    some nice ideas there....

eventually went for frying the cod in some olive oil and a knob of butter at the end, oven roasted tomoates and home made chips.....fried twice. I only make chips, a few times a year....but they are so tasty!
