Business license to trade?

    Hi all:)

I am planning on setting up a business which will sell everyday shop products. I was just wondering if there are any specific licences I need to commence trading? Such as a license to sell goods? I know I have to register as self employed, for VAT and the actual business name but are there any other legalities which I need to consider?

    Thanks in advance:)

you dont need licences to sell "everyday" products but you may need planning permission for the premises that you are intending on using and if you are selling foodstuffs you'll need haccp and health inspections etc

insurance will be a consideration etc

if its toys and gifts, you can open anywhere
