Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hmm anyone else seem to be stuck on "select a service provider" in the initial setup? Can't seem to get past it whatsoever.

Edit - Turned it off, unplugged everything and then managed to get past the set up.

For anyone who has had theirs delivered, does the tracking now say "Deivered: Dublin Parcel Centre, Ballymount Rd, Dublin 12"? I'm nit sure if it's been delivered to my house or to a parcel centre.

Mines delivered also although it's to my parents house where I won't be for 2 weeks! Would have had it delivered to me if I knew it'd be shipped early. God dam them being too efficient for a change!

    Arrived.

Going through the setup right now.

Eastern European version - elected "Other" as my location and currently auto tuning (a slow process, which after 40% has picked up 2 "Data/Other" and no TV / Radio.

Will keep ye posted on progress.

Ta for that. Will have a look later.

the "other" setting still allows RTE player to be picked up - must use IP address.

When you get to 'select service provider' it won't move.

Well confused. I select Dublin and UPC and it just doesn't do anything.

    Any ideas?

Had the same thing happen, I turned the TV off & on again & all sorted.

Anyone know what the "Common Interface" is and do I need it?

I was stuck here for about half an hour. Ended up turning it off, unplugged the hdmi's and Etherley then turned it back on. Had to cancel it looking for a network and it jumped onto step 10 or whatever it was. I'm going to go back at some point and try and set up the service provider thing though.

Switch the TV to standby, take the plug out the wall and wait for the Red led at the bottom right to go off.

Take out the ethernet cable from the back (or turn off your router if you set up wireless, if you've got Horizon turn that off at the back maybe?)

Plug the TV back in and turn it on.

It should jump straight to step 6, then jump to a network connection test thing, just cancel this and it should then jump straight to step 10 and say set up complete.

Put it back on standby and connect the ethernet cable again (or turn the router/horizon box back on) and you should be done.

This is how I got past step 6 this morning anyway, if anyone knows why it hangs there let us know!

Went back a few steps and put in no network all seems good now

Will go back at a later time to set up the service provider At a later date

Would be good to know why it hangs

    I am using sky

I'd kind of assumed it was a UPC problem, so good to know! :-D

Yeah, I'm going to have a mess around with it tonight when I get home from work, if I manage to figure it out I'll let you know.

This is a seriously good tv :D

Should have bought one years ago, watching Vikings from a USB key now and it is glorious. RTE Player works but its not great, like watching 360p Youtube, I never use it anyway, the screen is absolute class and thats all I care about.

Haven't tried Rte or YouTube yet but had it streaming flawlessly from the media server and the phone earlier. And as you say, the screen is excellent.

Did you bother changing the region code to Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,257 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

Just opened up mine right now. What a beaut! Tested it out with some Netflix which looked great and some You Tube.

Very happy! Changed my region to Ireland but i'm not 100% sure why because everything seemed to be on there already (It also gave me the option to choose my area of Ireland before i'd done it, having picked "others" as a default)

It picks up your location automatically from your IP address when you connect it to the net.

Was having no success with wireless, but everything fine when hard wired to router in another room.Brought it back to original room and it can detect network and gain access to network but not to internet. Copied Ip settings from router and installed manually- no joy. Set up phone hotspot but wouldn't connect to that either, yet i could operate nowtv from same hotspot.typical wifi speed (efibre) 40 Mbps. Suggestions gratefully received !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,968 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

Unplug tv for a minute, reset the router, turn on tv and try again.

UUUUGGGGHHHHHH! So I heard back from iBood and they said mine has got 'lost in the post'. How do you lose a 40" tv?? It can take up to 4 weeks and I may just be given a refund. Not happy.
