    Hi all,

    I am looking to integrate a PDF catalogue into a business website. We like the website embedding flip effect some services offer.

    Are these PDF effects premium? (that you have to pay monthly subscriptions) or are there cost effective versions? We are happy to pay if that's the way to go...

    Try Codecanyon, plenty of them on there.

    I'd avoid any that use Flash, like the one above.

    Thanks for the reply - I see only two flip PDF apps in CC, both not as polished as Flipsnack

    If that's the route you're going, make sure you really, really test it before you put it anywhere near your website. Don't just test it on the suppliers site either, find other sites that are using it (not just their recommended ones either).

    I'd suggest you still leave visitors the option of downloading the PDF. Personally I'd rather just be able to grab the PDF and view that in a native PDF reader.

    Understood! All good points - I'm happy to go with any 'preferred and stable' PDF flip reader for web embedding - So any suggestions from day to day use from you guys are welcomed!

    Have to agree, I'd limit the flip book thing to a short brochure, but not a full catalogue.

    What advantages are you hoping to gain from using a PDF flipbook? In what way does it make it easier for a customer to access the information they want?

    Generally it's because someone with a bigger desk that never actually uses the content on the web think it looks pretty.

    The net advantage is bigger desk person is happy, all be it at the cost of usability.

    No (apparent) way to zoom in either, it even breaks the standard browser zoom. It's a perfect example of how not to do it

    Yeah, and I see this site has actually gone for the FREE version also.

    Might re-think this alright!!

    You can zoom in by clicking the page, and the text is perfectly clear when you do. I would still consider this an annoyance though, and would prefer to use a dedicated PDF reader.

    Only if you have flash installed, which I don't on my primary browser. So the site is broken unless you have flash installed.
