Here's a clip of me doing my everyday feed. Robins are so tame.....and fearless.

When I was street trading in the same spot each week, the robins knew I woild feed them and were there before I set up.One year I fed a fledgling all summer, watching him grow his red breast, and the next year there was was again.

It used to amaze and delight the tourists and they took so many photos

I have one here already that comes near when I take the dog out and sings,

Got my Bluetooth pen working again.
    So much handier than typing.

And the house is like an oven tonight.

Nothing can beat air-dried linen. Off the line, onto the bed and electric blanket on is nothing short of heaven!

Freshly filled hot water bottle and a mug of strong, sweet coffee on a bitter cold morning.... getting back abed to find a furry cushion at my feet that purrs when I wiggle my toes...

The look on my wifes face when she questions if she turned on the blankets or not... then that feeling of 'YES!' She had!

When you have an ingrown toenail and you manage to dig the nail out of your flesh...... The unbridled joy of a pain-free big toe is overwhelming.

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

I was teaching a first year class earlier and mentioned Kings of Leon in passing as their tickets went on sale this morning. Out of a class of 18 not one of them had heard of them

Played Use Somebody and they all recognized it within 10 seconds. Made me smile. Music is great :)

My 3 year old son singing along to treat you better by Shawn Mendes and dancing when he thinks I'm not looking.

My three roosters (daddy rooster and his two sons) keeping guard while my hen (their 'wife' and mammy respectively) lays her egg. :) And when she's done, they all sing full of pride and joy.

That takes me back a few years.. NB are the sons still young? If not why are they not attacking each other or do you have that still to come when the testosterone rises like sap in spring!

I wouldn't have always been one for being fussed over but it's pretty deadly if it's the right person doing the fussing.

Roosters who are raised together establish a pecking order between them as they are growing up. Because they have already established that order, there is less incentive to fight when they are older.

Lovely to see the slight drift of snowflakes here today. The lane to the bog is slightly dusted and calling me to take a stroll in the wonderfully fresh air today.

    Here goes.....

A colleague recognising that I am out the door with work delivered a nice sandwich to my desk. With the coffee made perfectly. Didn't even bribe him.

Oh no, they're definitely all adults, they were born last spring, and they have their (still smallish) spurs to prove it! But they've always been together, there's a very definite pecking order, their dad is the boss and their mother won't take any nonsense from them even though their testosterone levels are very obviously high. They had a sister, too, but she died a few months ago :(. Also, they have LOTS AND LOTS of room to roam around the field, so they can give one another a wide berth if needs be. They still all sleep perched beside each other in the coop, and when it's warmer they all go to sleep in the branches of a tree. I love them and they make me very happy. :) Also, when I call them to feed them they run with their wings spread out for speed and balance, and after a few seconds all the wild birds land on the trees around and wait for me to leave them to descend 'en masse'. That also makes me very happy. :)

Today, which I had expected to be pretty crap, turned out to be one of the best days in weeks. Life can still surprise me.
