My dog playing excitedly with his toy and rolling around on the rug like he's winning.

Was in the shed ( where the freezer and washing machine etc live) and a movement caught my eye.... a robin in there, flitting around, clearly seeking a way out. Healthy, lively little one. So of course I have left the door open...

Holding a frog, which had got trapped in the drain from the guttering, for two of my grandchildren to see. The boy was "yuch" but the girl stoked it and helped place it in a shrub bed. She's chuffed with herself - she's six.

Srameens posts, I love your life! So content and happy surrounded by people who make you happy, eating lots of biscuits and liking animals. I would be happy knowing more people like you in real life

I can't agree more, and Graces7 too, thanks for your outlook on life, enjoying the little things. Certainly not trivial, but still makes me happy to read both of your posts.

Ben and Jerries Cookie dough icecream at half price in Tesco. Managed to sneak a few tubs in to the big home freezer without the rest of the family noticing.

Trivial? Yes. Only a game? Yes. Happy with the result? Ecstatic.

    A great afternoon's rugby.

I'm pretty sure I've been the opposite of short changed! (Long changed?) My wallet is up E50 from what it should be!

Now if I knew where it happened I'd absolutely be going back to the shop - but I've spent money in at least a dozen different places over several different counties since I put E200 in the wallet the other day.

So I feel slightly guilty but I'm just gonna be happy about it - I could badly do with it and deserve a bit of luck and happiness! :)

Enjoying the lovely blast of warm air each time I came back into the house yesterday. I took the dog for two walks, in the sleet, and the warm air in the hall was like walking into a big snuggly duvet.

Sunday, sweet Sunday....Foraged in the store spare room last evening and sorted yarn for samples to send to a dear friend in the US who is planning to sell for us there. Good food, work for my hands.... coal for the fire... Poor, but rich.

Buying a pretty cool picture book of the world's countries in Lidl for my niece for her birthday.
    She's going to be 7.

I don't know why but i'm convinced she'll be some sort of genius when she grows up.
I love that this book might even inspire a love of travel for her.

That she'll turn around to my sister and say "that's it I've had enough of this place. I'm off to Buenos Aires". The last bit is more about pissing my sister off which is always a bonus. Ha.

Edit: Just noticed i said picture book. When I say picture book, it's got plenty of text with details about the countries and flags etc. I was thinking of getting one for myself.

All our children have the potential. It's just up to us to unlock it. I love when children develop a gra for books. Any books. There's nothing more heart warming than the sight of a child engrossed in a book.

We dispensed with a video player a few years back and progressed to a DVD player. Our eldest grandchild arrived this morning with a pile of DVDs. She said she thought we might enjoy watching them. Ok? We thought, as we don't watch many DVDs at all. It turns out she has had all our old family holiday and Christmas home videos transferred to DVD. Even a couple of old silent 8mm home movies as well. They chronicle our own kids from about the eldest at 4 years of age up to about mid teens. Should keep us deep in nostalgia for a while.

Listening to music on my new Sonos, dog chilling beside me. Reading a great detective novel.

Going for an early dinner with Mrs and junior to my favourite Indian restaurant shortly.

Went for a walk up to the hellfire club this evening. It was absolutely bucketing down with snow. Not another sinner about the place. So nice. I do love adventures!

Sitting in a darkened room waiting for my six week old son to wake for his feed while I have Small Change by Tom Waits on the record player. He seems to like it, sleeping soundly, big Tom Waits fan like his dad!

Peace..... when the gale eases. And had an email from dear faithful ones at Springwools that they have knitting yarn for me. They keep a big box in the shop for oddments to give away and every now and it i my turn as they know I knit to to feed babies. It is a treasure box of fascinating exotic yarns I could never afford to buy. They have been doing this for over a decade now, bless them. Makes life so much kinder..So looking forward to it!

I have emailed the kind folk at the Post Office that a huge box is due. My new postman is a kind man .. ( I mean HUGE; I could sleep in it!)

Went for a long walk this morning and decided to do so in town, as there was more shelter from the wind. Crossing the street and a man said good morning. As I replied I realised it was a chap I was at secondary school with and had not met in 55 years. He looked good and we arranged to meet up later in the week for a chat. Always nice to meet long lost acquaintances.

Now I'm smiling because I'm imagining Graces7 in the box with a caption that says 'If I fits I sits'. :D

My brother's friends six year old sent me two of his old books (baby books he reckons) to give to my week old baby. How frickin cute is that :)

MY wee dog is digging holes in the garden !. It is OK, a wild informal grassy large area...She is 11, a rescued "russet ' ie Jack Russell/Bassett cross and a very emotional girl. Has not dug for years...

Shows she is settled and happy and also that unlike the previous place the earth is dark and rich here... great growing ahead when I get wire netting ;)
