Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Robins in my garden. There are no Robins in NZ and I think they are gorgeous.

I have a small, high top window in the kitchen which I often open just a little bit. My cat jumps up, holds on with her paws and hangs there for a bit while trying to push herself through. I find this hilarious to the point I often open that window instead of letting her in the door. Don't ring the IRSPCA :P

Having something cancelled that you didn't want to attend in the first place and now have load of free time to do nothing.

After a particularly difficult few weeks-which as always I've told nobody about-I got texts /emails from 3 different friends looking to meet for coffee. How lucky am I?

I mightn't have 26,738 friends on Facebook, but the few I have are pure gems.

How utterly excited my doggy gets when you put her harness on her. And then how she can barely control herself enough to sit down while I clip her lead on. She runs around in circles and you can nearly hear her going "ohmigodohmigodohmigodwe'regoingwalkiesohmigod".

    It's too bloody cute.

My dogs snoring after their walk on the beach
    Birds singing in the morning
    My pay-packet every week
    Buying myself a present
Being single after 3 years in relationship where I felt nothing
    Doing whatever I like !!
All these things make me smile...:)

There are so many trivial things that make me happy it's difficult to pinpoint just one or two, but here goes: I love quiet Sunday afternoons spent in front of the fire watching some catch up TV with the one I love! And.... Nothing beats breakfast in bed 😃

My puppies are the same. The first few times I brought them on the lead they hated it. It was like trying to bring cats for a walk :pac: Now all I have to do is shake the leads and they go demented with excitement :D

    Silly Ella....

My 2 year old daughter can't pronounce Cinderella and it makes my day hearing that.

Come to think of it, she's also a fan of the demon pig (Peppa) so maybe I don't have to worry about her speach. Silly Daddy.

When an event you were dreading is cancelled.

When people react unexpectedly calm, reacting positively to something you feared they would freak about.

when the public address you by name at work (nametag visible) and thank you for assistance.

Free stuff and getting good value for money.

Seeing ****ty people put in their place and karma working it's magic.

    Just pleasant surprises in general

Did you leave the wife / girlfriend at home so? :D

    1. Arriving home, popping into the living room where I've had the storage heaters turned off for the few days I've been away working, and discovering that it's not the Siberia it usually is on my return. Might be able to leave the heat off a bit more often when I'm home. start reducing those heating bills after all.

    2. Curling up in my own bed after a few nights away. Nothing like me own bed. And even better, knowing that I can have a lie in in the morning :D

When queuing with a couple of items in a supermarket and the person with a basket / trolley full in front insists you go before them.

A lovely young lady did this earlier, instantly felt cheerful.

I've been working a lot lately and haven't been home much. I've just had enough time to feed and water my pets, bring them for walks and give them individual attention. I'm also getting work done on the house.

This morning it looked like a bomb hit the place, partly because I haven't had time to clean it properly and also because Ruby (a parrot) found the pile of newspapers and shredded them to bits so it looked like I had a newspaper snow party in my lounge, the puppies got hold of a roll of toilet roll and the rest of the house looked like a foam party and the plumber came this morning to remove a sink from the bedroom and left a load of old pipes/sh!te all over the place.

This morning I could've cried at the state of the place. Now, after a LOT of cleaning, hoovering and tidying my house looks respectable and I can go to bed tonight without feeling like I'm sleeping in a building site :) I keep walking around the place and can't get over the difference. It's soooo relaxing :D

Discovering that moving my bedroom furniture round is much easier than it was in my last flat.

Last flat had one of those bulky box beds, with the bed part in two halves... but this one has a bed frame with a mattress on top, and was basically just a case of pushing it round and over other side of room.

Also trivial thing that makes me happy is now having a bed against the wall instead of the middle of the room. Much prefer being able to curl up against the wall, rather than just lying there.

Also TA makes me happy is finally tidying up and finding stuff that I'd lost - this time my cosy winter had that I've been lost without, and my library card. Here's hohping I haven't lost them since though ;) Just my style.
