Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3pts for The Pool today would be superb, won't get surprised by a draw or loss though.

Only see this going two ways, either a 3-2 or similar Liverpool win with lots of goals from each side, or a 1-0/2-1 win for Southampton with Pochettino getting his tactics spot on

    Can't see a draw happening

I think the saints have our number...I can see us shipping at least two goals....hope to god we score more....expect super star performance from their keeper...flanagan will get a lesson today...lambert a cert with a headed goal...

So in a match which you think will be close either way, you can't possibly see a draw happening.

A rather irrational thinking process there!

    Deffo on Setanta.

Be very surprised if Southampton don't take at least a point today.

Allen deserves to start but Sterling does not deserve to be dropped. I'd have dropped Coutinho.

The way things are going we could be 2nd by the end of day...

You could make case for each one in the front 4 to be dropped as they could be very effective from the bench in their own ways - Sterling could be a very fresh pair of legs late on.

Wonder if the change will mean that Rodgers goes back to playing two up front like he did for a few away games earlier in the season.

    2nd spot up for grabs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,954 ✭✭✭garra

Pool to go 2nd with a Sturridge finish from a Coutinho through ball.

Southampton to have 18 efforts on goal, Mignolet with a masterclass display to keep them out :D

Yeah could go with a midfield diamond formation alright, might be more secure, keeps Coutinho in his preferred postion. Need Allen to be in form and play keep ball.

We can go second today if we win, cue a disappointing defeat!

I'm predicting a limp away display and a 3-1 loss. It's been too long.

I haven't been able to shake the feeling all week that Southampton will win this two nil.

Hopefully the second spot now up for grabs is that extra little motivation.

With Southampton tending to defend well on the flanks and also doing a lot of their pressing centrally, stacking the centre might get some joy.

Good team selection, imo. Hopefully it pays off.

Allen deserves to start but Sterling does not deserve to be dropped. I'd have dropped Coutinho.

At least we have the option of bringing in Sterling in the second half, that will surely demoralize any opposition.

Will be a few goals in this as we are leaking them but hopefully Suarez will get one at least. I don't want him to be left out too much :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,385 ✭✭✭✭D'Agger

Thinking the same about Sterling, not a bad thing to have him come off the bench and cause some trouble on the break.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43,311 ✭✭✭✭K-9

Bringing Allen on and leaving Coutinho on worked against Swansea so I can see the logic.

2nd would be something else in an already unbelievable season. We don't have a good record this season after a week off, going 2-2.
