Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sunderland put in a great half there.

I'm surprised City haven't tried to attack down the right hand side a bit more, Marcos Alonso seems like he could be susceptible to a few mistakes; hems been out of position quite a bit in this game too.

What an excellent first half by Sunderland! They fully deserve a 1-0 lead.

Is O'Shea going to be allowed do that all day?

stop whinging, city players do it too.

Go for a whiskey PaullyD. You must be bricking it!!

Couldn't have asked for any more in that half. Scored, no real chances for City, and we look dangerous on the break.

Time for an underwear change ahead of the second half now.

That roar from the Sunderland fans when the half time whistle went

Great 1st half from Sunderland, but still a very, very difficult task ahead of them.

City can bring on Navas and Negredo, and the likes, and really change this game. Sunderland, obviously, don't have that luxury, and Wembely being such a big pitch and taking a lot out of players, I'd hate to see them dead on their feet near the end and concede a few.

No spark from us at all out there. Very poor. Sunderland deserve the lead.

The Wembley pitch is the same size as the one at the Stadium of Light.

Well done sunderland keep it going

Demichellis should be in a suit with an assault rifle standing outside some drug lords house, not starting as a centre halve in a cup final.

Fairly sure it was said that Wembley is bigger

    City are a poor side..........

Yeah, they're so poor that they're only in fourth place in the league with two games in hand.

    Abominable really. :p

City need Navas. Play with more width. Fantastic job by Sunderland so far.

Kompany would fit into any team. He's sublime.

    ?

Aguero not having a great game yet

You see 'tussles' worse than that in most games, Dzeko never even reacted to being manhandled by O'Shea there. It's not right but rarely gets penalised.

    Come on Mackims!!

I would like to see some hoof merchantry in the second half and Negredo to come on for Dzeko. Sunderland are just sitting back and countering so passing through their defence has been difficult. Build up play has been too slow for the most part.

"If Sunderland win, Vito Mannone will become the 31st player to leave Arsenal and win a trophy since Arsenal last won one."

City will win 2-1 sadly, Sunderland will be gassed by 70.

Funny how DiMichelis comes in for so much guff from the pundits but Kompany can do no wrong despite the fact that Kompany was the one beaten all ends up by Borini for the goal.

Negredo needs to come on...him and Aguero work so well off each other....Neguero

No I think it's the same size. Very open to correction though.

No doubt Kompany is a world class player, but the amount of lick arsing from BBC and sky pundits towards him is funny. At least give him some criticism when it's deserved.

I think this too unfortunately. The likes of a fresh Navas running at a shattered Alonso will be the difference.

I wish it was over now either way to be honest. This is not good for the ticker.

Had a look, and it would appear that they are the same. Neville had said in commentary that Wembley was bigger.

You do notoriously see players cramping up more, but that's probably down to the occasion more so than pitch size, so. Unless the grass is heavy, or something :P

    Ah stop with kompany.
If it wasnt for him there would 2 nail down.
I think demichellis should f off and lescott come on.
    Also negredo come on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Dzeko will be hauled off pretty soon I'd say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,984 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Just on the Kompany thing, I'd have Terry ahead of him all day everyday. Couple of others too like Benatia, Chiellini and obviously Thiago Silva.

18 months ago he would have topped my list but since then he has not been near the same level.

Whatever about Demichelis, starting Dzeko ahead of Negredo seems to have been Pellegrini's biggest mistake here.
