Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Died 10 years ago today. Still remember where I was when that news broke on the early morning bulletin. Remember feeling just totally stunned at the time over such shocking and tragic news.

Had seen him captain Tyrone to McKenna cup success in Ballybofey shortly before that, you had thought that would be the first of many pieces of silverware as captain. Remarkable 'career' up to that too winning everything possible on the intercounty scene.

Incredible footballer and by all accounts an incredible man.

He died at 24 yet in that time he won everything that there was to win:
An AI Minor, under 21 and senior along with a national league title and All Star.
Its a shame that we never got to see him have a long career but I think that we can count ourselves lucky for having seen his immense talent displayed (and rewarded) on the biggest day.

Tyrone have really had a tough decade in terms of tragedy and especially poor Mickey Harte. In one way you'd love to see them bring Sam home one more time as a tribute to both Cormac and Michaela who have departed far too soon. RIP.

Paul McGirr aswell. although that was a few years previous.

They've been through alot that group. I have always had a great grá for Tyrone. Wouldn't begrudge them a Sam Maguire.
