Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    St. Patricks Day Race CANCELLED

It is with deep regret that Usher Irish Road Club have been forced to Cancel its annual St. Patricks Day Race due to circumstances beyond the clubs control.

The club were unsuccessful in securing suitable medical cover for the days events due to high demand associated with local St. Patricks Day Festivities.

That, tied with the increasing number of requests by local authorities who are beginning to react to the high volume of Cycling events around the Trim, Summerhill, Batterstown area, has made the organising of this event impossible for 2014.

Usher Irish Road Club apologise for the inconvenience caused.

    -End-

I don't want to be alarmist, but is this going to be a trend? Cancellations cos of too may races in the same area?

In this area it looks like it. Between open races, inter club leagues (x2) and IVCA events all appearing on the Batterstown to Trim Road up to 3 times a week in the Summer, the complaints have been flowing into the Garda Stations in the area with Video footage, photos etc being produced. And of course what is in the photographs? Cyclists not obeying rules of the road in races. Sure the Gardaí can only listen to it for so long before action.

But the main issue in relation to this race is the non availability of medical cover on Paddys Day.

Thanks for the explanation. I've been harping on about it awhile, but what I saw on Mick Lally convinced me something will happen (I understand this situation is due to lack of medical cover).

No, someone's dragged up last year's thread.

    There's a more relevant one here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=94607107
