What would the fastest way to the Casino Monument in Marino be from the Redcow this coming Saturday?

Would it be better to go through the city or around the M50?
If going through the city do I pass houston or would I cut through dolphins barn and across wood quay?
Whats traffic like at the weekends in the morning and evening?
How long do you think it would take?

AA route planner, and google maps cant seem to make up its mind tbh.

Weekend traffic would be fairly quiet and the best route I'd imagine would be M50 and leave at the Malahide road exit. But don't forget the toll charge!!

Easiest way would be to go on the M50, right to the end where it meets the M1, follow the signs for Malahide you will go onto the N32, at the end of this road, you will see the junction for Clarehall (with the Hilton hotel on the left).

Turn right here, you are on the Malahide road, head down towards Fairview, passing through two roundabouts, you will see the casino on the right hand side.

I'd say it will take maybe 30 mins or so? Only thing is you will have to pay the toll on the M50 crossing Southside to Northside.

If I were avoiding the M50, I'd go down the Naas Road, head towards Inchicore, head over Island Bridge towards Conningham Road, towards the quays, but instead of hitting town, turn left at the courthouse on Parkgate Street, onto the North Circular go towards Croker, turn onto Jones Road, down Clonliff Road, heading towards Fairview, turn up onto Malahide Rd and the Casino should be on your left! You will defo hit traffic this way.

Think you would be better off taking the M50! :-)

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately I have to drive up and down on both saturday and sunday, so it looks like I'll be paying 4 tolls.

Cant find a single hotel thats not booked up in the city. Would have rather avoided driving if I could've taken the train tbh.

There are lots actually via the usual booking websites but you'd be paying top dollar this weekend.

you could ring Marino Institute of Education. it's a 3 minute drive from the Casino, on Griffith Avenue and they charge 39euro a night. 8057700 is the number! Hope this helps!

I appreciate all the help so far! Thanks, and sorry to bump this but I have one more question!

I have two other options aside from driving straight into the city.

I can either: Drive to the red cow, park up and get the luas to connolly, then take the dart to clontarf station.

second option: Take the train to heuston station (arrives at 8:15am), take the luas to connolly then take the dart to clontarf and walk the rest of the way.

Bear in mind I have to be in marino for 9am.

Are any of the two feasible or is public transport too slow/unreliable? I dont know how often the dart or luas come and before I've gotten out at heuston with a 20minute wait for the luas.

I wouldn't get the Dart. I'd get the Luas to the Abbey St stop and then get the bus to Marino. There are several buses that go along Malahide Rd & they will leave you right outside the little park that the Marino Casino is in. I know that the no 15 and the no 42 go along Malahide Rd. There may others. I think they depart from the Eden Quay area that is very near the Luas stop. The Dublin Bus website will tell you where they depart from exactly.

Even if you get the Luas/bus combo, I dunno if you will make it if your train only gets in at 8.15. The Luas trams and the buses will be on a Saturday schedule, so they won't be as frequent as they are at peak time Mon-Fri. If one comes in a couple of minutes, you'll be grand, but you may have a wait of 10-15 mins for both of them and if you do, you won't get there for 9am.

Given how early you have to be there, I'd drive the whole way. The traffic will be non existent on a Saturday morning. Once you get off the M50, its a straight 5 minute drive to the Malahide Rd intersection at Clare Hall. Once you are on the Malahide Rd, you'll get to the Marino Casino in 10-15 minutes tops.

I would agree with the poster above, I wouldn't get the Dart. Get the Luas to Connolly, and get a bus from Amiens Street across the road from the Luas stop beside the Brew Dock Pub, you can get the 15, 27, 42, 43 bus, the all go up the Malahide Road!

Use the NTA National Journey Planner at www.a-b.ie

You can also download the NTA journey planner app for smartphones, and the Dublin Bus app is a useful tool.

My advice if you take the public transport option, is to get the LUAS to Busaras, walk around the corner into Amiens Street, and then either 14, 15, 27, 27a, 27b, 42 or 43 will take you from the first stop to the Casino.
