Quick question, I know (from my student days) that a blip on a loan or credit card repayment can have a damaging effect on ones credit rating, but does anyone else here think firstly the penalty of 5 years on record but secondly that it is nigh on impossible to improve your record during the 5 year period is a bit excessive?

Maybe I am totally wrong and off with my info but there are no known ways to improve credit rating in ireland currently are there? if you take it as a given that the record is damaged from a previous issue?
