Hey! So I'm in NUIG and my sister lives in England. Her 21st is coming up during the Easter Holidays and she will be home in Ireland at this time! She doesn't want a party or anything like that so I thought it would be nice to bring her down to Galway for a few days to mark the occasion in some way! Thing is all I can think of to do is going for dinner and clubbing (which we will), but we always do that when shes home so it would be nice to do something that we don't usually do as its not everyday you turn 21! Has anybody got any suggestions? :D oh and also does anybody know a really nice bakery in the city? I want to get her an unbelievable 21st birthday cake! :D
    Thanks in advance! :)

Ye could see some sort of show, maybe there's a play, comedian or band playing that would be worth seeing. Maybe out to the Aran islands, supposedly they can be great craic, the smallest island is supposed to be a law unto itself because the guards rarely visit.

a "presence" alright because they do SFA and are never seen.

They were cruising a fair bit during Tedfest, but there was nothing rough to see so they moved along and left us clergy alone ;)

OP try looking at 'follow Galway' on Facebook - they list shows, comedy, storytelling, art nights etc.
There seems to be loads on under the radar at NUIG too these days

Is there a guard there permanently? I heard they go out on the boat every so often.

Goyas for a really fancy cake. It's on Kirwan's Lane (the little alley down by McDonagh's chippy)

But there isn't anyone on the small island all the time? I heard he has to go out to that island every so often.

Apart from the usual you could always go paintballing or go karting or something like that? If it's a nice day then walk out to Salthill and go to the aquarium and casinos and stuff. Just depends what she's into. Or you could always pamper her with a spa treatment or something before heading out! :P (Or bring her to brown thomas to get her make up done for the night) It's always nice to have something special on your birthday!!

As for a cake I've heard good things about "Simply Divine" cakes but I've never got the chance to taste.

    Enjoy! :)
