He dealt with Monson in BJJ so he should be able to control Cummings.

I find that ranging he does with his left hand sort of off putting... It looks like he's reaching out to slap hands at the start of the round..

As soon as he landed that straight right, Cummings looked scared and Gunnar just picked up the pace.

    Great finish.

Very impressive. Does anyone know why/how Gunnar is so connected to Ireland?

Has he been working with John K for most of his career?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,618 ✭✭✭Ideo

UFC noob - what's the deal with the Irish being so supportive of gunner? Great to watch btw!

The ads really are frustrating, takes you out of the atmosphere completely and takes away from getting an idea where the fighters minds are at. Guess there'll be no "I feel great" ... "you look beautiful" moments tonight so.

Okay, when I've finished with Fiber Powered Woman...

Put me in the Octagon with that LUCOZADE B*STARD!!!!

In the intro they stated that JK / SBG has been training him "since he was a teenager" so I'm guessing that's the link.

Trains out of SBG which is in Dublin. Conor is from the same camp.

About 8 years I think. So long enough for us to credibly call him for our own :D

I have a bad feeling Conor has over-hyped himself and may lose tonight.

I see on Twitter that RTE are piggybacking on whole UFC craze this weekend by scheduling a mud wrestling match between Miram O'Callaghan and Blaithnaid Ní Chofaigh at 10pm on RTE ONE instead of The Saturday Night Show..

No way is this a cert for Conor. Brandao is very dangerous. Personally think Conor has to take it to round three or later if he's going to win.

McGregor currently 1/6 on Paddy Power... he was saying during the week that he feels like "Brandao doesnt love the sport" as much as he does and "his heart isnt really in it"..... Brandao seems pretty up for it to me... Could be a big upset here..
