Crikey, didnt realise this was on already. Amazing what a move away from Sky can do to lower the profile of a tournament. One of my favourite ones of the year with the FA Cup style open draw a real novelty. Somehow doubt that ITV will do it the justice Sky always used to though. Fingers crossed that UPC will show it on ITV4, although worryingly the EPG says 'Programme not available in ROI' when I check it. Always the filmon app or other methods of catching it though

Apologies I didnt get to organise a fantasy UK Open like last year, but its too late now.

Any reason for the move away from Sky? Also, was this not usually on in the Summer some time?

It has always been on in June from what I remember but the World Cup has been moved to June this year.

    http://www.pdc.tv/news/article/nd0wsprxrmp61ggiev9jovs8t/title/pdc--itv-sign-new-four-event-deal

Just part of the deal they signed and yes it did used to be on in June.
Having in it the middle of the Premier League is a bit strange.

I'm delighted it's on in March, the gap between proper TV tournaments used to be too big. The sideshow that is the Premier League can only keep me interested for so long.

Baxtard UPC not clearing it for broadcast in Ireland. Relying on filmon to watch on laptop.

Dont like that there is multiple rooms also

Paul Hogan beats Part 5-0, Caven also lost in one of the early rounds.

Mickey Mansell and William O Connor both won 2 matches each and into round 3

Didn't get to see any of the afternoons play but delighted that Mansell and O'Connor both got through are sure to win some prize money. Looking forward to tonight, this is a great tournament and I hope ITV4 do it justice.

From what I saw this afternoon it was more a case of the new venue not doing it justice as opposed to ITV4

The venue looks far too big for a tournament like this, I reckon the atmosphere is lacking.

3 different rooms as well. Much better in Bolton with it all in the one room

Why are they showing the Taylor and Van Gerwen matches? They are more than likely going to be complete walk overs. There are potentially some great gamed they could show instead.

At least we're spared the ''Stand up if you love the darts / Yaya Kolo '' bullsh!te, well at least in these early stages anyway.

Brendan Dolan beats Steve Beaton to get through to round 4. Ronnie Hybrechts knocks out Whitlock

Wright got out of jail at the end of that. Can't be missing that many match shots.

Not like Whitlock at all. He's usually one of the more gracious losers, must have been something said.

That's the biggest shock I've ever seen particularly since it was over a fairly long format.

I reckon he's seriously thinking of packing it in.
