Debit card refund

Hi

If you purchase something from an online retailer and the money is debited from your account, The order is then cancelled ,how long before the funds return to your account and will it show up as a credit on your account?

Is there anything stopping a retailer from keeping your funds?

That depends on how you purchased. No there is nothing stopping the retailer keeping your funds unless you have paid for protection like with paypal.

A refund on a Visa Debit card generally takes up to 2 to 3 working days however, this is also dependant on the retailer's refunds process, so it may take a little longer. In the meantime would advise that you contact the retailer and ask them to confirm cancellation and refund of the transaction to you in writing or email.

If after this you still do not receive a refund, you can complete a transaction dispute form through ourselves. You can find this here on our website.
