And an actual Malaysia plane has just crashed in Russia with 295 on board

Shot down apparently STA MISSILE. OVER UKRANIAN AIRSPACE. 280 passengers and 15 crew. Unbelievable.

Could this could narrow down the speculations as to MH370?

I still don't see what you are getting at? Are you suggesting that MH370 was shot down as well?

OR if it turns out to be a maintenance fault (unlikely) that it points a finger at malaysian airlines engineers?

I was thinking perhaps that MH370 could have been shot down and no one took responsibility for it. Is it not a huge coincidence that 2 planes in 4 months? I don't have any evidence of course.

These people need help, like medical help, sooner rather than later!

    2 points:
1st: This theory is horse-****. it relys on dodgy photo manipulation, strangely not sourced "near conclusive" evidence of a hijacking of MH370, as well as a statement from Russian seperatists that was originally intended to implicate Ukraine in the downing of MH17.

2nd point: You belong in the CT forum not here.

Why so many negative comments on this?

Because its a conspiracy theory that belongs in the shallow end o the CT forum.

The theory is based on coincidence, deliberate misinterpretation of photographs, baseless anti-establishment online journalism and incorrect interpretation of the propaganda of insurgents.

If it was MH370 that was crashed in Russia where is MH17 and all it's passengers? It would make no sense, most pax on the first flight were Chinese and most on MH 17 were Dutch/European.

There are so many technical, engineering, regulatory, multiple IT systems and operational controls and processes in place for live operations and recorded history. It would require a host of personnel from the airline across a large number of departments to be in on a scam to "change the aircraft identity"!

And furthermore, for those working with the aircarft, they would know each aircrafts peculiar little quirks and traits. If you owned 2 10 year old Ford Focus's (same model - same year) - one for yourself and one for "the missus" or whovever, you would know the different "feel" between both of them and whatever little snags either would have. Exactly the same for aircraft. I used to work with them for 30 years.

So if its only MAS that could do this "swop" why in fecks sake would they even try? They were still reeling from MH370 and then MH17 hits them hard.

The entire article is slanderous immature rubbish and written by someone who hasn't a clue about what they are talking about.

If I was the MAS CEO - I'd chase that prat for every penny he had!

Thanks for that, it's funny how some people think they are more intelligent than the 100's of investigators out there..

1000's of investigators have already narrowed down the possibilities of MH370 and confirmed the incident that lead to the downing of MH17.

Take your theory to the CT forum.

Because it requires one to accept that a is more reasonable than b:

    a) Somebody orchestrated the hijacking of a 777 in March and managed to successfully smuggle the aircraft to an unknown location, with an airstrip large enough to accommodate a 777, without detection, despite an international search effort spanning months where the disappearance was front page news across the globe.

They managed to keep this plane hidden for months and at some point made alterations to mimic a similar plane of the same model. In July they flew this plane to a major international airport and pretended to take on passengers, under the guise of another aircraft that was meant to make the flight that day and arranged for it to be shot down over the Ukraine.

The aircraft which is alleged to have flown that day, despite being in service for nearly 20 years, was disposed of without trace. All of the people who would be aware of such an operation have remained quiet. Hundreds of families are pretending to have lost loved ones. The people they are pretending to have lost are, what, either hiding somewhere or never existed at all?

And all of this was done for reasons that make no logical sense.

    b) A 777 tragically crashed in March and has not been found. Another 777 was tragically shot down over the Ukraine in July.

In response to the quoted post:

Search has obviously been scaled back but that doesn't mean work isnt going on in the background.

Did you even look at the link kippy provided ?
Some 1,800 kilometers (1,100 miles) off the coast of Western Australia, a pair of survey ships continue their efforts to give search teams a better understanding of what lies thousands of meters below the surface in one of the most uncharted, remote places on the planet.

The Chinese Navy's Zhu Kezhen and the Australian-contracted Fugro Equator have covered roughly half of the priority search area, which the ATSB says is the most likely resting place of MH370. A Malaysian survey ship is on schedule to join them in August, and underwater mapping is expected to wrap up in September.

as mentioned before this story has an update period of months to years now.

    It's entering a new phase.

    It will be found though.

Sadly the CVR could be useless as it holds only the last 2 hours of audio.
