Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A big match for both teams but I suspect more so for the Arsenal.
Man Utd are the most successful club of all time in the FA Cup with 11 wins, but Arsenal have 10 and really could do with a trophy this year to get the long trophy drought monkey off our backs. Wenger went so far as to say it's a vital fixture in his friday press conference - however with a midweek trip to bayern munich we'll see if he puts out a full strength side. I feel he must.
Meanwhile, Everton come into the game with a number of positives, the played a great match against arsenal at the emirates earlier in the season and are more than capable of a result here, especially considering arsenal's form is poor over the past month or so.
It promises to be an interesting contest, and a nervy one for the gooners on here.

Arsenal (Possible, 4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Arteta, Rosicky/flamini; Cazorla, Özil, Podolski; Giroud.
Out: Kallstrom (back), Ramsey (thigh), Walcott, Diaby (both knee), Wilshere (foot).
    Tests: Koscielny (hamstring), Monreal (ankle).
Everton (Possible, 4-2-3-1): Robles; Coleman, Stones, Distin, Baines; McCarthy, Barry; Deulofeu, Barkley, Pienaar; Lukaku.
Out: Gibson, Koné (both knee), Oviedo (broken leg), Traoré (hamstring).
    Test: Jagielka (hamstring).
    Referee: Mark Clattenburg

and then arsenal to go on and win it, denying man city a league and league cup double, a feat of which (i think) only arsenal, chelsea and liverpool have achieved?

Spurs won the double in the 60's. United done the treble in 99. They got a few doubles as well.

I'm talking about the fa cup and league cup double. As far as i'm aware arsenal were the first to do this in 1993.
man u's treble was league, cup and CL.
Spur's was a league and cup double too.

    Everton keeper looking nervy

  • Administrators, Computer Games Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,409 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Mickeroo

Crikey, that goalie is a liability.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,553 ✭✭✭Spanish Johnny

He might be no world beater but we look a much more fluid side with Sanogo. He is a facilitator for the 3 behind him. Ox obviously helps too. For the first time in ages we look really threatening.

Open game though and can see Everton scoring.

    Flamini must be careful now.

    Get in!! Good run Barkley

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭Marty McFly

Brutal defending no one watching far post at all. Sagna badly caught out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Drexel

    Sanga was very casual there.

    Bad bad defending

Flamini couldnt tackle there because of his stupid yellow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Deserved...can't have any complaints. Although if the Everton keeper isn't taken off it's hard not to see Arsenal scoring again.

  • Administrators, Computer Games Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,409 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Mickeroo

Game on now. Not too worried, still look the better side.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭omega man

Sloppy, really sloppy. Despite our positive attacking start the signs were there from the get go. Some real poor passing etc.

Hard luck Ox, having a good game today.

Should've been two there, poor shot from Mirallas

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,195 ✭✭✭irish son

Arteta took to long to get his shot away before the goal and thats where the break came from. One of the centre backs should covered Mirallis's run as Sagna wasn't making up the ground quick enough.
