Query on capping for parapet wall??

    Hi all ,

I hope someone can advise me, well it's for my sister. My sister built an extension out the back of her house 2 years ago, she has her guttering etc right on the boundary line. Now her next door neighbour (the houses are attached) are in the middle of an extension where they have built a parapet wall, they have their gutter on their side of the parapet wall. The issue which arises is they have put capping on top of the parapet wall, it's a semi circle capping and she is assuming that the rainwater will fall off the capping into her gutter. Does this guarantee that the walls between the two houses will remain dry as no water can get down there now? The thing my sister is worried about is that will it cause problems if she ever sells up?

What do you think , is she right to worry or is this normal and it guarantees a dry outer wall.

    All replies most welcome.

What I'm trying to say is can a neighbours parapet wall drain rainwater into another neighbours gutter ??

    no they cannot

they should incorporate a capping that allows for draining to their side only.
