I spent the yesterday evening looking at my local area nominees online (Athenry-Oranmore). I'm involved in a group called Galway Educate Together Second Level Start-up (does what it says on the tin) and I wanted to email all nominees to see if they would be supporting our efforts, this for me is a deal-breaker. There are 16 nominees in my area, I could only find working email addresses for 13 of them. Thus far only two have responded, Clement Shevlin and Jim cuddy (both very favorably and they will be getting my votes - they would have been front runners anyway). Only six of the sixteen have twitter accounts (that I can find) many of them don't have facebook pages.
I could pick most of these people out of a line-up but found it very hard to get actual information on a lot of them. Very frustrating. Do these people actually WANT to get elected?

*Disclaimer - I am a friend of Karey but I haven't been involved with her canvassing campaign at all.*

She has uploaded a short video of what she hopes to bring to the Tuam area.

Is there any other Tuam candidates with short youtube videos I could watch so I'm not going in voting blind tomorrow?

You won't go far wrong by voting for the true Independents who have the best interests of the people at heart. Facebook is hopping with all the posts in favour of Shaun Cunniffe, Tp Niland, Theresa Killeen-Kelly, Karey McHugh and Michael Fitzmaurice. Whatever else you do, please don't vote for the RUIN TUAM gang.

Thanks for that. We are getting it through satellite currently and its disappointing at best. Didn't realise it can be done via RF too. You recommend I take it? lightnet is their name it seems, but thats shortened from lighthouse networks as you say.
Does weather have any effect on connection?
I must drop into them so, only up the road. I might even check if they have any vacancies!

Sorry, only saw this now. Yeah I've been with them a few years, good service. Got little to compare them with where I live but it does me :)

On independent.ie it looks as if an independent has been elected to Connemara, I'm thinking Thomas Welby, but has anyone more information on that?

Never heard of them, but I think having a word like "Fail" in the party name it tells me all I need to know about them.

    Wouldn't you agree?

The word is "fáil" not "fail"
