    Hi folks,

Been quoted €480 for labour and materials to tile two bathrooms (we are supplying the tiles). Both bathrooms will be striped clean.

Bathroom one would be tiling around the bath to the ceiling - approx 6.2 metres of wall tiles.
Small floor area of 2.38 metres - including a one tile skirt that would be 3 metres in total.

So that's 9.2 metres upstairs. Round up to 10 metres.

Downstairs is a tiny bathroom - 1.5 metres. Including skirting board that's may 2 square metres in total.

So that's 12 metres squared of tiling.

    At €480 that's €40 per squared metre.

    Is that reasonable?

    Cheers,

Its not really a linear scale though, depending on the size of the tiles, a small room can have a hell of a lot of cutting, especially if its a bathroom with lots of pipes, windows etc.

    Hi Greebo,

I don't think this is the case in either room. Upstairs bathroom is three flat bare walls over the bath. Floor will be clear except for sink pipe. He said he needed to lay board over the floorboards to lay the tiles on.

Could that be the mega cost?

Downstairs is concrete floor. Rectangle shape.

Gonna talk through the pricing with him but I wonder is it the replacement of the skirting board with tiles I wonder?

You have 14.5 yards of tiling.Materials- 2 bath seals,3 silicone,3 bags adhesive, grout, one 4" x 8" wbp plywood, box of 4x25 screws, cost approx 140 to 150 euro for quality materials.fit wbp plywood 20 euro,it has to be done. That leaves 300 labour for tiling. If you want to bring down the price dont do the scirting in tiles.Overall the price is very very reasonable. It equates to 20 euro/yd,but this job is priced on time and not by the yard or metre.
