Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is the 1st time in 20 years or so that I feel we are slight favourites to beat Utd at OT.
It could definitely go the other way too though. I predict a 2-1 win for Liverpool.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,952 ✭✭✭Morzadec

How will Moyes and Rodgers set up?

In many ways a must win for Rodgers - if he wants to win the league there can be no game where 3 points is not the target. Then again maybe this is the one tough away game left - would he be happy enough to settle for a point here?

And Moyes? Surely even he has privately acknowledged that 4th is out of reach. Notoriously negative and defensive, would he take a draw in order not to face a massive backlash from United fans and demoralise the club before the crucial Champions League game?

Will be interesting to see both teams set up, and how it changes as the game goes on, particularly if the game is tied up late on.

Hard to predict this one, but in recent crunch games, Liverpool have looked sharp, aggressive and very dangerous. I think Suarez will be really fired up and if we come out of the blocks early and score early it could be tough for United.

I'll go for a Liverpool win and both teams to score. Hard to predict though

Same every year for this rivalry in recent times - One team with big championship aspirations in fantastic form and scoring freely against the once great powerhouse languishing in midtable mediocrity whose fans are living off past glories. Except the teams are opposite this year....

Genuine effort at a combined 11:

    De Gea

    Rafael
    Vidic
    Sakho
    Johnson

    Fellaini

    Gerrard

    Suarez
    Rooney
    Sturridge

    RVP

That team mightn't hang together too well in a natural sense but the talent...my god. Fair whack of quality on the bench too...

I'd have Mata in for Sturridge there, they're both not wingers but yeah.

This is basically like a cup final for United. I think this will be a very tricky fixture for that reason.

Eh is it really though? They have a CL game 3 or 4 days later

I think you could add that twice.

Once for the United fans when he doesn't do the business, and one sarcastic version for Liverpool fans when he does.

    OG?

While not all were officially own goals, about 5 of the goals we have conceded this season were due to large deflections off Martin Skrtel, so that is what he is referring to I'd say.

Martin Skrtel, with his 50 pence head and his over fondness of the defensive bicycle kick.

I'm predicting a Sturridge v Welbeck shoot out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭ROCKMAN

    As a Utd Fan I'm sh*tting it .
On all known form this season ,Liverpool should hand us a severe beating 3 or 4 ,
Its United v Liverpool for f**ksake ....so if the United players cannot raise themselves for this game it really is all going down hill fast.

Do I think we can get a result ... Yes if our main players turn up... If they go missing like most of them have so far this season then it could be embarrassing .Suarez and Sturridge have been ridiculously good this season and they will punish us.

But its Utd so I BELIEVE :D
2-1 Utd.. Rooney and Mata and that Suarez chap for them...
