Agri-Enviromental Science UCD 2014

Have this down number two after general science UCD on the CAO. The UCD prospectus just gives a vague skeleton if the course an was wondering what the course really involves. Can you pick electives to study in first year? Do they have to be related to the course? Is there any practical work Etc

If you click each module, it'll give you a detailed description, and info on how many hours/how you'll be assessed and so on. You can do 1 or 2 electives each year depending on your course, think that info is in that link there. Your electives can be anything at all; related or completely unrelated. There are limited places on some modules which can cause problems. There is work experience as part of this degree, here's info on that

Hi thanks a million, is stage one first year? Do you start the enviromental science in first year or is there general ag science at first? It's not very clear... Thanks!

Yep, stage 1 is first year. Basically, for all the ag majors (of which ag-environmental is one), most modules are the same for first and second year, with maybe only 2/3 different. From 3rd year it completely changes and it seems to be all ag/enviro specific modules

That's great thanks! Is the workload much? What kind of hours per week? Sounds like a great course, can you do the post grad in wildlife conservation and management with this degree?

I'm not sure about hours, I'm doing an ag major and ATM I only have about 12 hours a week, maybe 15 the weeks I have labs. The hours taught with each module are in the first link I posted if you click on the 'How will I learn' tab under each module. As regards post grads, I've no idea, might be an idea to email the course co-ordinator or course head, you should find who that is on the myucd page for the course, or else email the ag program office and they will point you in the right direction!

Just finished the course last week. Happy I did it though I thought the first 3 years were useless 3rd year was good 4 th year a lot better. It's a college course so yes it's a good bit if work same as any, but not a crazy workload. We are told it's good for jobs. Ha I hope so anyway
